JACK SLATER heads unstoppable towards 15 years of finest death metal. What began 1995 as a small german metalband, transformed over the time of one demotape, one MCD, four albums and hundreds of gigs later into a grown up band, who will demonstrate once again with their new album "Extinction Aftermath" how intelligent, brutal, technical and independent death metal should sound.
In mid-June 2009 the five musicians went to the well-known Hertz Studio (Bialystok, Poland), to record their 4th album, together with the fine brothers Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawski, responsible for the sound of such masterpieces of bands like Vader, Behemoth or Decapitated. In the relaxed, professional and productive atmosphere ten songs emerged, which should easily be the best songs JACK SLATER have ever written and recorded.
On their 4th album JACK SLATER present themselves better, faster, more brutal and more beautiful than ever. Their last album, “Blut/Macht/Frei” already raised the bar to high standards, but whatever you focus at, be it songwriting, instrumental abilities, vocals or lyrics, JACK SLATER managed to enhance every aspect of it once again and show that in a formidable way on every second of "Extinction Aftermath". Enriched through the brute sound crafted by the Wieslawski brothers, the ten songs develop in various and diverse ways, sometimes brutal and taking no prisoners, sometimes melodic and atmospheric, sometimes just grooving like there is no tomorrow, but always big, always keeping focused on the best result, always ready to go to even higher levels with every next riff.
"Extinction Aftermath" with its superb sound and excellent songs doesn’t need to hide behind any recent album of any band in the scene and can be proud of itself, knowing it’s a very good, diverse and independent death metal album, that will find many well-pleased listeners with its energy and variety.
JACK SLATER demonstrated over the years at hundreds of clubgigs, many festival appearances (e.g. Summer Breeze, Fuck the Commerce, Brutal Assault, Dong Open Air, Up from the Ground, Deathfeast Open Air, Eisenwahn Open Air, Mountains of Death, NRW Death Fest, Suffering Live Open Air, Winterbreath Festival, Hard Taste Open Air, Protzen Open Air, Barther Metal Open Air, Winternachtstraum) and last but not least on the two successful Fleischmarsch tours with Japanische Kampfhörspiele and Excrementory Grindfuckers, that they rightfully belong among the best german live bands. With "Extinction Aftermath" the band managed to capture that energy onto tape as good as never before and can now release it in form of their 4th album onto the world.
Right now JACK SLATER is searching the perfect label to release their 4th Album, stay tuned!
