About Jackson Cage

Influenced by classic groups such as The Band and Crazy Horse, as well as contemporary artists like Wilco, Jackson Cage have built up a substantial and deserved reputation as a must-see act on the Irish music scene. Since their inception in 2007 they have performed at many of Belfast's most distinguished venues, including sell-out shows at the Rotterdam Bar's New Year's Eve Festival and the city’s renowned ‘New Moon Showcase’. Other noteworthy performances include Belfast's Nashville Songwriters Festival 2008 where the group shared a line-up with a host of internationally renowned artists such as Nanci Griffith and distinguished songwriters Pat Alger and Don Schlitz. Their eponymous debut album, officially released in December 2008, embodies the group's raw, folk-driven approach to contemporary rock 'n' roll and has already been extremely well received by music fans in the US, so much so that it spent time at the top of Amazon’s Americana download chart. Currently, fuelled with a new self-confidence and a simple desire to create and play music together, Jackson Cage continue to write honest, rootsy material, develop their trademark electric-folk sound and hone their live shows while continuing to raise their profile through local TV and radio performances.

So if you like your rock with a twist of folk and country, a squeeze of west coast and served in a dirty glass then put on your flowery shirt and come along to one of the gigs and show us some love.
