Rising from the ashes of Warning and Leicester band End It All, Jackson Caged formed in early 2006 and immediately began writing songs that were to define the new band's sound, many based around riffs that Drummer Mike had brought on board.
With barely time to catch their collective breath they were thrown straight in at the deep end, with their first gig being a headlining slot at Sheffield’s premier live venue The Boardwalk. So impressive were the band that they have been regulars at venue ever since, being invited to play support to bands such as Spear Of Destiny, Warrior Souls and GMT.
December 2006 saw the release of Jackson Caged's first demo EP “Rock and Roll Don’t Come From New York.” It was met with some really positive reviews and much acclaim. Sheffieldmusic.com called the demo “Absolutely astounding” and Jon Wisbech of the Bristol City FM Rock Show called the band “one of the best unsigned bands around”
Brimming with confidence and inspired by the press support the band soon recorded a second demo “Jarhead”. This was picked up by Sandman magazine who loved the demo, in particular the melodic and dark “Darwinian.” The band were now maturing their sound which found themselves moving in a darker and heavier direction, resulting in them picking up bigger and better support slots with Zico Chain, The Ghost of a Thousand, Flood of Red and Steriogram at the premier north east music venue, The Leadmill.
The time is now right for the sound of Jackson Caged to be unleashed into the ears of the world with their debut "official" release, Still Born (EP). This release is a showcase of the bands eclectic, diverse talents mixed with a wide spectrum of influences and fusing together the various elements within the band. By taking the hip rock hop of the song “Playing It Blind” and the sheer nastiness of “Jaws” and “Sweet revenge” and interlacing them with the beauty of “Still Born” and the banshee moan of “Haunted”, Jackson Caged are ready to be heard.
After a long and exciting two years with the culmination of hard work, serious gigging, and song writing, Jackson Caged have arrived with a sound unlike any other, a sound that resonates power, bemoans life’s failures, and reaching at the very soul of those that dare to challenge, ripping it clean out.
Jackson Caged are a hard working rock and roll band that are looking to take their rightful place as one of Britains top rock bands. With a hat tip to what has gone before and their eyes locked on to the future, be in no doubt they are more than capable of doing it.
