Band Websitewww.jacksoncountyline.com
Band MembersKevin Jackson (vocals, guitar), Matt Phillips (mandolin, trumpet, tenor guitar, harmonica), Cade Lewis (bass), Tim Anderson ('cello, vocals), Jonny D (pedal steel, electric guitar) Paul Barrie (drums/percussion)
Influenceswe all listen to very different stuff so here's a member-by-member breakdown....

kevin: "My infliuences are Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, Cat Stevens, Hem, Sam Cook, Otis Redding, Allman Bros, Black Crowes."

tim: Tim's influences go back to Simon and Garfunkle and stretch to Mark Kozelek. Inbetween there's a healthy dose of Tool and Tori Amos just to keep things balanced.

matt: tom waits, BIX, dizzy, roy, miles, clifford, louis, hoagy, fats, louis jordan, nat king cole, jack teagarden, pee wee hunt, jackie mittoo, link wray, bill monroe, frank wakefield, grisman/garcia, jethro burns, riley puckett, charlie poole, tommy jarrell, roscoe holcomb, jody stecher, dylan, bromberg, john hartford, norman blake, doc watson, holy modal rounders, r. crumb, WOODY GUTHRIE, townes, marc ribot, mose allison, nick drake, dad, uncle dave macon, uncle tupelo, the band, the pogues, and tom waits.

cade: there is a circle in life that begins and ends with heavy metal. until it swings back around again, cade is with us.

jonny: stones and mott the hoople

Sounds Likekevin, matt, cade, tim, jonny, and steve. we also have been accused of sounding like elo though we really don't get it. think ray lamontagne mixed with tracy chapman (gad, that'd be an ugly baby) with a horn and string section.

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)

Promotional Video(My Girl From The South Sea Isles)

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

Hi Jackson County Line, I Draw Slow are playing The Cobblestone, Smithfield in Dublin on Wednesday 24th June, supported by the amazing Thomas Kitt. Doors are at 8.30 and admission is €10, a small price to pay to see the citys two premier acoustic acts don't you agree? On the off chance you disagree, come down on wednesday next to the Cobblestone, Smithfield Dublin and we'd be happy to discuss it.
