Hey, I’m Alex, I play acoustic/folk/vaguely punkish music under the moniker Jack’s Smirking Revenge. I currently reside in Boulder, Colorado. My songs cover a wide range of topics and influences, from having a broken heart to wanting to break bank windows. I try to not to restrain myself to writing solely angry anarchist songs of rebellion. I grew up listening to punk music of all styles, and eventually came to appreciate the work of folk musicians such as Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Utah Phillips, etc.
I currently have a demo entitled “Bitter Songs for Bitter People” uploaded on last.fm and here, and it can be streamed and downloaded! I also have a much less nicer looking "Demos Before the Next Demo" CD-R
Other than (drunkenly) playing for friends in my living room, I have only played a couple shows so far, but will start the usual circuit of coffee shops and parties in the boulder/denver area very soon. Be afraid.
