Jack the lad est né de la fusion de Jack in the Box et the The Ladds, deux groupes indépendants ayant silloné le sud de la France dans les années 90. Après le départ du chanteur (jerome) et le remplacement de la bassiste (florence par Claude) , The Ladds est devenu Jack In The box. Après une periode en duo avec Vincent le guitariste de toujours et laurent le batteur, Jack in the box a cessé d'être. Jack the Lad est désormais essentiellement composé de laurent qui compose, écrit et produit ses chansons. Son premier album Homegrown a été intégralement auto produit et enregistré chez lui. Il est largement inspiré de sa culture pop anglaise (The Beatles, The Kinks, Dodgy, Oasis, U2...)et notamment du son de liverpool (The La's, The Real People, Rain, Shack, The Stairs...) Jack the lad est aussi une des meilleures chansons du meilleur, mais largement sous estimé, groupe pop des années 90 : Dodgy. Dodgy a sorti 3 albums avec nigel clark et un quatrieme sans le chanteur. Ce dernier opus a été partiellement financé par les fans via des dons internet auxquels a participé laurent . Son nom figure d'ailleurs sur la pochette du 4ème album de Dodgy "Real Estate". After the split of The Ladds and Jack in the box, Jack the lad is born. This band is only one member as Laurent Delmas. He writes, plays and produces all his songs. His first album "Homegrown is self produced and has been recorded at his home. Jack the lad is also one of the best songs of the best pop band of the 90's : Dodgy. Dodgy has released 3 albums with nigel clark as a singer and the fourth album without him. This last album has been recorded with the funds given by fans throw the fan site. Laurent is one of this crazy fan that gave money to this band. His name is on the booklet of the fourth album "The Real Estate". Buy this great lost album and check it !!! Jack the lad is also a reference to the la's, proabably the best lost band of the 20th century. The Lad for the la's and Jack for a great b-side. Lee and john are boss and we hope they will come back soon. Recently, Jack the lad has released his second album self produced with 17 brand new tracks. JTL will be in manchester the 27th of march for the great DODGY REUNION TOUR. JTL have a dream : play with dodgy live !!! JTL is still working on new songs for the next album that will be a big one with brass section. JTL will release this new stuff in 2009 like DODGY !!!!
