  • Bio

Jack 'Timpada' Groenland - Bio Born: Yes, in Holland. I also lived in Belgium, Germany, Denmark, and since 1978 in Ireland. Music: I learned to play the piano as child, sang solo in school and church choirs, played (self-built) bass guitar in a folk band, started to write songs in my teens and started a band with a friend. I sang in pubs, clubs and restaurants in many Western Europe countries. Since 1994 I spent many evenings at singer-songwriter's nights and Open Mikes in Dublin. I often used the stage name Timpada. ******* Discography: I brought out an album of my songs in Dutch Wereld Van Papier in Brussels in 1994. It was produced by the Will Tura. I recorded and published an album of my songs in English The New Dawn in Dublin in 2002. If you can't find it in Tower Records (in Dublin) anymore, contact me to geta copy. ******* Recording: As I always recorded my own demos it was only natural that I started to extend the service to other songwriters. When my children grew up they started to write songs and playing in their own bands. So I recorded their demos too. I started Jack's Recording Studio in Ballsbridge (Dublin) where I recorded bands and singer-songwriters as well as my own songs for The New Dawn. I recorded into an Ediroll 8 track soundcard and Cubase. Then for a couple of years I worked in offices in Dublin in Customer Service jobs, and continued recording in my free time. I now record into Pro Tools. I record into a Midas Venice 24 allowing for 16 tracks of professional quality. ******* For details about Timpada Recording Studio copy this link in your browser: http://www.iol.ie/~timpada/Timpada.html

    Unique Groenland Showcase:

4 great different acts. "It’s a Family Affair - A quartet of the Groenland family (brothers Tim, Patrick, Danny and father, Jack) keep it in the family with this extra special show.

Featuring the melodic indie rock of The Gorgeous Colours (with Tim), the good-time grooves of The Liam Duffy Band (with Danny), the soulful jazz of Amparo (with Patrick), and the sensational return from retirement of singer-songwriter Jack "Timpada" Groenland."
