I play piano, bass, guitar, sax, melodica, jews harp, synth, and drum samples. And I sing ok.
I'm looking for band mates to form an original project. Please contact me if you are interested.
Influences
Most of what I do comes from listening to and playing jazz as a kid. I love jazz-funk, classic rock, reggae, latin, and bluegrass. Queen, the police, Herbie Hancock, Alison Krauss, and Randy Newman are my some of my favorite musicians. Sometimes I can hear all those styles in my playing, but my style is otherwise pretty directionless.
Sounds Like
I don't listen to music much, but peope have told me I sound like: Elvis Costello, Nickel Creek, Ralph Stanley, Randy Newman, Ben Folds. Any suggestions?
About ME:
I play instruments and sing. My songs are reeeaally good. I'm trying to put a band together. Be my friend.

Hey Jack. Good to see you the other night. I forgot to mention we are having a bandfest/going away party for Jamie at the East End this Sunday. It would be really cool if you could make it and sit in with the band on one of the old "nuggets"! Give me a shout.
Just stopping by to see how things are going, Baddog. Hope all is well. I'm enjoying your musical works...highly original and entertaining. Keep 'em coming and I'll keep listening.
thanks for the invite. you got any turkey sausage? I don't eat the bloody red kind lol. I have a gig on Sat night but I will try to stop down. How's the musak going?
This Friday March 16th at F.U.E.L Collection on Arch and 3rd check out special live performances by members of DRAKE (myspace.com/drakeonline), Grimace Federation (myspace.com/grimacefederation), and Philly Slick (myspace.com/philadelphiaslick). If you haven't yet checked out these bands, you're missing out, and this is the perfect opportunity to get an introduction to some of Philly's finest in funk, hip-hop, and jazz. The exhibit features illustrations from 40 artists who interpreted the phrase Across the Sea with no outside direction, as well as some dope mural installations on the gallery's walls. Munchies and drinks (yes, of the alcohol variety) will be provided for everyone that chills upstairs where the live music is going down. This event's going to be solid, definitely try to make it out.

Hey guys what’s happening? Yes, I am sending this message to everyone I know, but it’s for a good reason. My new band, The What Monsters, has just finished recording some tunes so you’ll be getting a friend request from us soon. You should accept this request because we have a song called Awesome Party. I hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you soon.
And don’t hesitate to leave us some comments. Unless you don’t like it. In that case shut your mouth.
Your good friend or possibly random acquaintance,
Joe(y)
I wish I could take credit for finding a needle in a haystack, but I found you the old fashioned way...knocked on Bill's door and asked "What's Jack's myspace?" Thanks for accepting my friend request, by the way. Having 69 friends made children uncomfortable.
It was good running into you on Friday! Hopefully I'll see you soon!
i have a feeling this auto-dj is about as good as a 'virtual' wurli plugin. doesnt cut it for me. computers cant lay down dusty grooves if ya know what i mean.
