   About The Jacobites
Ewan and Adrian have been playing together for about 18 years, starting in a variety showband and also with a couple of mates in a Rock/Country/Ceilidh function band -'Unfinished Business'. They joined with an established Accordian/fiddle 'spare time' band at work, where Bob joined them. They have played to audiences from half a dozen in sheltered housing to 3 gigs to 3,000 people in a circus tent at Albert Dock in Liverpool appearing with Gerry Marsden (without his Pacemakers) and Justin Hayward as guests of the Mersyside Police Band. The material ranges from set dances which can be 'called' to traditional and contemporary folk and acoustic songs, some great harmonies and instrumentals. The songs range from some of Robert Burns finest to 'Trad' songs and songs by some of our favourite singer/songwriters, including the works of Eric Bogle, Dougie MacLean and Ivan Drever. The band are suited to Burns Suppers, Clubs, pubs and private functions and parties. The music is suited to dancing to, listening to or a bit of both. The dances include the usual favourites: Gay Gordons, Scottish and Irish Waltzes, St Bernards, Military Two Step, Candian Barn Dance, Dashing White Sergeant, Strip the Willow, Orcadian Strip the Willow, Virginia Reel, Britania Swo Step and the list is growing.

Glad you enjoyed the album :-) We didn't quite manage to use all the instruments - I think the tenor mandola got left out so we'll have to try to do better on the next one. And the collection has been growing - a new photo coming to the site soon.

All the best,

Cruel Folk.

Thanks for the nice comment - we're glad you're enjoying the album :-)

I think we managed to use most of the instruments on it, however we've acquired some more recently (keep an eye on the web site for details - coming soon!) and you'll have to wait for the second album - already well under way - to hear those.

All the best,

Cruel Folk.

Hiya Ewen, Bob and Adrian! Howz it going? We're looking for moral support from our friends. We're playing our first Edinburgh gig next Sunday(June 10th) in Bannermans - with Cartoon Coffee and Roy Henderson, no less!! Being the novices, we're a wee bit nervous, so if you were up for coming along and cheering us on, we'd really appreciate it!!
Love,

Many thanks for the comment on Harriet's Song. It came out alright in the end. The best bit is that Harriet (Bartlett) likes it too !

Hope we can cross paths some time .. how about a song or two on your site.

What a fantastic Quote:
