Jacobo Aguilar is a young drummer and composer from Manizales, Colombia. He is 20 years old and has participated in various musical projects like for example the Tribute to Neurosis (Colombia), the tribute to Symphony X and the tribute to Pink Floyd among others. He has played with several rock and metal bands and has also made compositional and classical orchestration studies at Berklee College of Music.
Mixing all these elements, Jacobo composed an album called “Nebulosa de Cristal” with the idea to innovate in Progressive Metal and this way, to show his way of making art.
The album has been sold since the 10th of March at a cost of 20.000 Colombian Pesos. The genre of the album could be denominated as Progressive Metal, presenting a mixture of Metal, Progressive Rock and orchestral arrangements. This album was produced by Jacobo Aguilar and Julio Monroy and recorded at Delta Records studios in Bogota, Colombia.
The guitars were recorded by Daniel Realpe (from Ethereal and HiddenPath). “Nebulosa de Cristal” has 5 songs; 4 songs by Jacobo and a cover song of the Greensleeves. It promises to be one of the best Progressive Metal albums done in Colombia, with an international projection. In April Jacobo will travel to Canada to promote his record in all North America, showing it to one of the greatest musical markets of the world and taking Colombian metal to a higher level.

Jacobo Aguilar es un joven baterista y compositor de Manizales, radicado en la ciudad de Bogotá, con 20 años de edad. Ha participado en variados proyectos musicales, como el Tributo a Neurosis, el tributo a Symphony X y el tributo a Pink Floyd entre otros. Hizo parte de varias bandas de rock y metal a nivel nacional. Realizó estudios de composición y orquestación Clásica en la universidad de Berklee College of Music. Mezclando todos estos elementos Jacobo compuso el disco Nebulosa de Cristal con la idea de innovar en lo que se conoce como Metal Progresivo y de esta forma dar a conocer su forma de hacer arte.
Desde el 10 de Marzo se encuentra a la venta en Colombia el álbum con un valor de $20.000 pesos. El género del disco como tal se podría denominar como un elaborado Metal Progresivo, presentando una mezcla entre Metal, Rock Progresivo y Arreglos orquestales.
Producido por Jacobo Aguilar y Julio Monroy. Grabado en los estudios Delta Records de Bogota. Las guitarras de este disco fueron grabadas por Daniel Realpe (Ethereal y HiddenPath).
Nebulosa de Cristal consta de 5 canciones; 4, autoría de Jacobo y un arreglo a la canción Greensleeves. Promete ser uno de los mejores álbumes de Metal Progresivo hechos en Colombia, con una proyección Internacional, dando mucho de que hablar por el Metal Colombiano.
Por otra parte, en el mes de Abril, Jacobo viajará a Canadá para promocionar y promover su trabajo discográfico por todo Norte América, dándose a conocer en uno de los mercados más grandes del mundo y de esta forma, llevar el metal colombiano a un nivel más alto.
