Jeff Buckley (everyone likes to say his name but no one sounds like this man... PERIOD no one has before and no one has since - however, i never get tired of listen'n to him so that makes him a serious influence), Elliott Smith, Supergrass, Shudder to Think, Jump Little Children, Tom Petty and The Heart Breakers, T Rex, Nick Drake, Kent, David Garza, Ed Harcort, Elbow, Muse, John Vecchiarelli, Pete Yorn, Ours, Travis, and you cant leave out the Beatles, and Led Zep, and Floyd... however, there are more influences in my life than that of musicians that i have never met. such as: my family, and friends, and my best friends Selina Bean, Sergio Sennder, John Vecchiarelli, Nathan, Jered, Jeff Sowell, Rachel, and Devin. These people, life, and love, teach me so much more and have been a greater influence on me than someone else's chord changes...
My dream gear... (well i think)
Sounds Like
Post-Modern-Operatic-Punk - Americana and a splash of Brit Pop with punch!
I have been hard at work on some new songs and they are slowly coming out! Still doing some preproduction/recording at home. Making something that I can use as a "leader" to get a new band together.
Also at the same time I am writing/recording preproduction work on a solo project again. Its been a while and the songs are calling for it... i'll keep you in touch!
Since we have been a band we have won contests, recorded an album - receiving great reviews, created a video (on no budget), met some great people who are both friends and fans alike (who are helping us), played some amazing shows, and self-booked and toured the entire country (almost) the some of 2007. All this Including The Fever featured on the "Off The Clock" compilation, and the upcoming "commercial" (oooh bet you didn't know that one). I won't quit, I'm still working on getting THE YOUNG IMMORTALS to make a BIG NOISE!
"Cubed" available at: Apple iTunes also as LIMITED download only . . . (Please download "The Fever" from our Apple iTunes site, it contains a higher quality downlaad than that of the "off the clock" compilation)
Hiya, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope you got a ridiculous amount of presents all of which you wanted very much. Also I trust that you spent Christmas with those you like best in all the world, cause otherwise, why bother? I am running away to Canada in January to record some music, so maybe I should incorporate that into my new years resolution... something, something, I will be creative and productive, blah, blah, blah. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, hope the holidays are great fun for you. -Kate Elliott
I'm sorry America voted for change and a new sense of pride in our country. It must have hurt bad. But, it had to happen. Long live Young Immortals!
P.S. finally got your solo album, and I loved it. Seriously, very impressed. "Dirty Angels" was a bit less energetic than what I was used to after having When History..... for a long time now. But, everything meshed well and it was very well played. Again, sorry about McCain.
