    .. ...... Jacqueline Choi, Cellist .. "An emerging star." - Richard Dyer, The Boston Globe .. Cellist Jacqueline Choi has performed as a soloist with the Boston Symphony, Bucheon Philharmonic (Korea), the New England Philharmonic, the Brockton Symphony (Massachusetts), and the New England Conservatory Chamber Orchestra. She has performed the concertos by Haydn, Tchaikovsky, and Shostakovich and concertized on stages including the Alice Tully Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and Jordan Hall. As a recitalist, Ms. Choi was invited to perform an all-French program at the Musée du Louvre in Paris (2008), and has performed a sonata program at the Neue Gallerie in New York City, sponsored by the Perlman Music Program (2004). The Kumho-Asiana Rising Star Series hosted Ms. Choi's Seoul debut at the Kumho Art Hall (2008), where she performed works by Schubert, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Messiaen and Poulenc. Her sonata performances at summer festivals include the Yellow Barn Music Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, and the Côte des Isles Cello Festival in Carteret, France. Ms. Choi's recent projects include programming her own transcriptions of the Schubert, Schumann, and Strauss lieder, in addition to the standard cello works ranging from Bach and Beethoven to Ligeti and Golijov. "I was meant to sing," Ms. Choi says, "and my cello is the only means, yet the only obstacle, I have for my singing." .. As a chamber musician, Ms. Choi was invited by the Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center to perform the Brahms G Major Sextet in their gala concert with violinist Itzhak Perlman (2007). Ms. Choi has also played trio concerts at the Jane Mallet Theatre, the Musée Canadien des Civilizations, and the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall on a Canadian tour sponspored by the South Korean embassy (2006). At summer festivals such as the International Program at Music@Menlo and the Perlman Music Program, Jacqueline has performed chamber works by Mozart, Brahms, Fauré, Bartok and Harbison. Ms. Choi has performed with renowned artists Itzhak Perlman, Donald Weilerstein, William Sharp and Nicholas Mann, and has worked closely with American composer Stephen Coxe. .. Jacqueline Choi is currently the recipient of the New England Conservatory's President's Award. During the summers she participates in masterclass programs at Apeldoorn in Holland and the Banff Centre. Ms. Choi studies with Paul Katz at the New England Conservatory and previously worked with Michael Reynolds.
