So far, an interesting, adventurous and funny year:
unexpected meetings with legendary folksters from this and that side of the Pond, a lovely night supporting Chumbwamba, another singing 'The Tenderness of the Devil' in a church in Fishponds, and an album, finally, that I am currently working on and due to be recorded in Autumn...
In a long gone summer Jacques flew to Jesi, a medieval smalltown in the Centre of Italy, attracted by some mysterious magnetism. There he saw an angel falling from an aeroplane, between a rock and a violin. Jacques heart started beating like fingers of mermaids beat on the harps in heaven, his eyes lighting the sky with fires. All the people who stared at the angel turned into chryselephantine statuettes, while Jacques turned into a robin. Jacques flew back home but couldn't find any nest waiting for him. He heard two children crying, far away, and followed the echoes of their weepings. In a hurry, he found himself in the woods in England, but everything was silent now. It was night time and you could hear just the noise of dozens of small wings moving fast. He found the children. They were dead. The robins of the forest were covering their small bodies with leaves. Jacques was a robin, now.
