Influences
Well, it is hard to name them all because so many artist have influenced me in many different ways. I love a wide range of musical styles/genres and pretty much go with what inspires my soul. I'm primarily turned on by vocalists because well, that's what I feel I do. James Taylor is who turned me onto "quote-unquote" FOLK music...and I still love him and his music. Eva Cassidy's soul and purity inspires me beyond words. I love everything about Tom Petty, what a great songwriter in my opinion. Sheryl Crow...love her too. I am however very lucky to do what I do because I have been exposed to many independent artist who I feel are incredibly talented and to quote James Hurley, "I Love My Job".
Sounds Like
Sweet & Sultry...Folk/Rock/Blues! You will hear an eclectic collection of original material mixed in to Jacqui's unique interpretation of her favorite covers. Jacqui has a diverse range and sound not only in her original writing style but also in her delivery of the covers she does.
Jacqui Foreman grew up in the small town of Juneau, Alaska. Playing the violin since age 6 helped set the stage for Jacqui’s ability to teach herself to play the piano, guitar and the electric bass. A gifted vocalist, she has, in her own right, become a prolific songwriter with original rhythm patterns and catchy melody’s all lead by her beautiful, angelic voice. Jacqui’s goal as a musician/singer-songwriter is to inspire other’s just as she was inspired at a very young age. In her words, “Music is a gift, a language that surpasses all ethnic and cultural barriers. It has moved me, taught me, inspired and encouraged me and I only want to have that same intent every time I open my mouth to sing. I wholeheartedly feel that music can heal the world and I want to be a part of THAT possibility."
Jacqui’s first album ‘Standing Tall’ was released in December 2005 on Jacqui’s own independent label, Sing Peace Productions and includes 11 original songs all written and produced by Jacqui. Soon to come will be her latest project, another self produced album titled ‘500 Doses of Reality’. HER DREAM for this new CD is the make it as environmentally friendly as possible.
