Jade Johnson is a junior at Xavier College Preparatory where she maintains a 3.9 GPA and is currently a member of the National Honor Society, Thespian Club and Honor Choir who just recently took 1st place at the Festival of Gold Competition in Chicago, Illinois. During the 2006-2007 year, she served as her school’s Freshman Student Council President. Jade has been active in musical theater since the age of seven and has performed in over forty musical productions with local community theaters such as: Desert Stages Theatre, the Phoenix Youth Theatre and with the adult company, The Black Theatre Troupe. Last summer, she performed her most challenging and demanding role; that of Aida in “AIDA”, with the Valley Youth Theatre. Currently, she is starring as Afi in “Revenge of a King” which is enjoying an encore performance and was recently selected to be showcased during the National Black Theatre Festival this August in Winston – Salem, North Carolina. She is also frequently requested to sing The National Anthem at many local charitable, civic and sporting events. During the 2008 Super Bowl festivities, she had the opportunity to open up for popular rapper Ludacris at “The Best Super Bowl Party Period” and just recently during the NBA’s All-Star Weekend, she performed at the NBA’s inaugural Block Party with the local popular band, “Static”. In April 2007, Jade released a demo CD titled, “Young Girl’s Love”. It is comprised of five songs, two of which she wrote. Jade aspires to be an actress & singer.
