Rosy-cheeked and innocent, Jade Summers is the girl next-door. A family gal, she grew up in Hawaii on the beautiful island of Oahu. Music was a part of her life for as long as she can remember, and her first solo performance occurred in a second grade recital, when she sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Not long after that, her mother brought home a copy of “The Phantom of the Opera” soundtrack and she was officially hooked. She sang while she did everything, oftentimes making up her own stories to go along with the music.
Her music choices weren’t typical of a child growing up in the 90’s. While her dad made sure she was brought up with the sounds of U2, Billy Idol, The Cure, Tangerine Dream, and The Cranberries (much to her mother’s disgust), her mother got her hooked on what she called “real music,” the sounds of Bing Crosby, Irving Berlin, and Rogers and Hammerstein. Jade fell more in love with singing each day, and begged her parents for voice lessons.
She remembers at her first few lessons she was working on the pop song “Believe,” from “The Prince of Egypt.” “One day I added my own little thing to the song, I sang these oooooos and I kept going higher and higher. My voice teacher said, ‘Where did that come from!’ The very next lesson she brought out ‘Ave Maria’.” That’s what Jade has been singing ever since, the young girl with the grown-up voice.
“I’m a bit old-fashioned, I love all types of music, but my favorite genres include: Classical, Broadway, Celtic, and Pop from the 40s and 50s (what I deem Bing Crosby music).” Jade actually started as a dancer, studying ballet and hula, and a pianist. She also loves the Opera and Theater, and had an amazing experience performing with the Hawaii Opera Theater chorus in their production of “Samson et Dalila.” Having worked on several songs already, composing is something Jade would love to do much more of in the future.

My dearest Jade, I wanted to drop by to say hello and wish you a most pleasant day. We just had a 1950 Vintage Pin-Up photo shoot at my place as I had met a beautiful photographer who thought my 50's Room would make a good backdrop. I asked her "how invasive?" she said, "not at all" so I gave her the green light. Networking at it's best. I hope that you are doing a bit of the same so as to get your most beautiful music out there, sweetheart, really. I hope that all is well with you and yours and hey, don't be such a stranger.
