JAGGED ROOTS is a management & production label based in Dundee, Scotland.
We manage: AMBER WILSON; KERRY FOWLER; THE LOST TODOROVS; PANDA SU and Hungarian composer ADAMATYS as well as a script writer.
AMBER WILSON is currently writing some new tracks for her next release. She'll be touring Scotland & England again and is adding a few shows in Ireland this time round. You can buy Amber's debut EP online at iTunes, Napster, Nokia Music, Music Me (for her French friends) and many other online stores. Amber also has lovely wee badges celebrating her chin and general bird-ignorance (she thinks they have 4 legs!) but you'll have to buy them at her gigs.
KERRY FOWLER released 'Dance of the Selkie' in May. The EP has been featured regularly on Radio Scotland and is described as "A record worth waiting for" by Jim Gellatly. It was rated as one of the Top 4 Scottish Releases for June by Music News Scotland. You can buy it directly from us by emailing jaggedroots_kerry@hotmail.com and it will be released in digital format and available at most online stores from September. Kerry's touring in Scotland and England throughout summer with the lovely Mr Robbie Ward (every bit as talented as he is hairy!).
THE LOST TODOROVS is a Balkan-Gypsy band project Kerry & Robs are putting together in 2009........when did we agree to this!?! Their mini album's due to be released in October and 'The Todorovs' will be making their debut appearance at Fest n' Furious to mark the mayhem, assuming we track the goat down by then. "A bit like The Gotan Project played on a balalaika by Macedonian farm badgers and fronted by Ute Lemper with breasts".....erm, yes. Thanks Kerry! That's really helpful........Do Skoro!
PANDA SU teamed up with Jagged Roots at the start of the year, having completed a 22 date tour of USA and Canada. Su's now back in Fife and will release her UK debut EP 'Sticks & Bricks' in October when she'll be touring throughout the UK. She's been receiving a great deal of critical acclaim and her song "Moviegoer" was track of the month for April in The Scotsman. Radio 1, Radio Scotland & Glasgow Podcart have also been featuring Panda Su regularly in the last few months. Blacken your eyes and get along to one of her shows.
ADAMATYS is the newest addition to Jagged Roots and has a completely different focus to our other artists. He's a young composer of film music from Hungary, his debut album has just been released in his homeland. The album will soon be available in the UK for sale via this page with a digital release planned for later in 2009.
IN OUR SPARE TIME..... We host bi-monthly, unplugged acoustic events at Bank Street Gallery in Kirriemuir, with artists including Lee Patterson, Kitchen Cynics, Esperi, Sarah J Tingle & Domvenditozzi performing.
