JaGoFF is:
Sir Real,
MOFO
& The Trailerpark Playaz
--------------------
Chicago-native, Sir Real
[aka: JaGoFF / Sir Real Labs]
is a critically acclaimed multi-media artist/musician/activist/photographer whose artwork helped to pioneer the aesthetic of the early rave/techno movement of the early 90's. He was the creative director for the landmark techno-youth culture magazine, Reactor. With his trademark eye-popping visuals, his artwork has graced hundreds of classic rave flyers, posters, magazines, cd covers, etc ... and has appeared on televison, in coffee table books, on street corners, on billboards and at the bottom of garbage cans.
In 1994, he founded the electro-organic audio/multi-media collective, Frequency Lab (MoFo was a member). Over the years, he has recorded and performed with the likes of MoFo Rising, Squishy, Billy Corgan, Marvin Tate & D-Settlement, Tranquility Bass - among many others.
In the mid-1990's he bumped into the obscenely talented freaks and visionaries at Chicago's Lab - it was here that he was first exposed to the early days of digital video mixing, webcasts, live music/video performance, lowband pirate radio and microcasts. In 1997 things got worse, as he stumbled into the MP3 format and Hotline Servers (an early P2P file-sharing/music distribution). The light bulbs went off. Life would never be the same ...
In response to the "entertainment industry's" iron-fisted tactics vs. online media and technology, Sir Real launched, TheRecordIndustry.com, in 2000, as a resource for independent/DIY musicians. With it's spotlight on current news, technology, legislation and IP issues, TRI is widely recognized and has become a touchstone for hundreds of thousands in the industry.
In 2005, TheRecordIndustry.com was invited to co-present The Underground Music Seminar ("Welcome to the Music Business...You're Fucked") with Martin Atkins ( Pigface, Killing Joke, PiL, NIN, Ministry) & Curse Mackey ( Pigface, , Grim Faeries, Evil Mothers, Thrill Kill Kult) - dishing out the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. (We definitely could use more of this type of thing).
In 2007, Sir Real & MoFo (JaGoFF) were invited by Henry H. Perritt, Jr., to take part in Mayor Daley’s study, commissioned through the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, concerning the effects of globalization on the Chicago music/arts community.
In addition to the above ridiculousness, Sir Real is a lecturer and speaker, on the subjects of Guerrilla/Viral Marketing, Culture Jamming, Media Technology, DIY Strategies for Independent Artists/Musicians. He co-designed and currently teaches the Interactive Advertising program at Chicago's Columbia College.

Influences
When you say influences, it is just that - bits and pieces of everything influencing something else which pulls from something else. Either way IT ALL leads back to the FUNK. Here we go... Massive Bass, Detroit Techno, Chicago Soul. George Clinton & P-Funk, Sly Stone, Graham Central Station, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, Public Enemy, the Bomb Squad, Son of Berzerk, KRS-One, James Brown, Otis Redding, Chaka Kahn, The Electrifying MOJO, "The Friday Night Dance Party" on WBMX, Howlin' Wolf, Ray Charles, Funk Brothers, Bootsy Collins, Bill Laswell, Frank Zappa, Afrika Bambaataa, Autechre, Art of Noise, Kraftwerk, Prince and the Revolution, Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills, Perlon, Richie Hawtin (Plastikman), A Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Digital Underground, Black Sheep, Jay Dee (J Dilla), Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, Kool Keith, Madlib, Muddy Waters, Drum & Bass; DieselBoy, Matrix, Teebee, Ed Rush & Optical, Cock Rock; Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, David Lee Roth, Sex Pistols, Blue Oyster Cult, Louis Jordan, Louie Prima, Megadeth, David Bowie, Soul 2 Soul, Little Richard, FSOL, Ween, Mr. Bungle, STAX, Sam & Dave, Willie Dixon, Ken Nordean, Captain Beefheart, Chess Records, Etta James, Johnny Lee Hooker, Ink Spots, Negativland, Basehead, Tom Waits, Dean Martin, Brian Wilson, Grand Master Flash, Eric B & Rakim, Doo Wop, the south side of Chicago, 80's breakdance, electro funk & it goes on and on and on! Now add one part booty, with equal parts politics - mix until the consistency is suitable for brain washing. Spread liberally on all affected/infected areas. ROCK, ROCK PLANET ROCK.
Sounds Like
Anything that makes your ass twitch and your unmentionables moist.

JaGoFF REVIEWS:
---------------------------------------- **** (4 STARS). "Dark and funky, this album is a little bit Prince, Roy Davis Jr and a little bit Disco D. Dancable and free, each song gets the ass shakin' a little bit more. The project is so sexy that if you haven't gotten any by the closing song, "Baby FaTT", you need a new face." URB Magazine, 7/2005
"Following successful nationwide treks on the Warped Tour in 2003 and 2004, Chicago-born JaGoFF decided it was finally time to collect their music onto a debut LP. Theres One Born Every Minute showcases this DJ duos aptitude for mixing tight techno beats and old-school funk bass lines with a unique vocal collision of high falsettos and Barry White-like basses. And as might be evident from their name, they love to pack each song with morsels of sexual innuendo (see Bust A Nut, Bump That Ass, and Interspecies Embryo Transfer)." Illinois Entertainer 12/05 Carter Moss
"Impossibly deep funk bass lines, crazy-eyed crew sing-alongs and a gritty bent put the Chi-town squad in post-Parliament territory. But this isn't just the orthodox funk of George Clinton's famed outfit. Between its rich harmonies and lyrical edge, is everything from gospel to rap." "Editor's Pick" - CNET/Download.com - 12/2006
"Delightfully grotesque display of gluttiny with a bump of sardonic apathy to the commodification of the female gender, and the extreme displays of casual sexuality ubiquitous among the secular populations so burdened by such marketing tactics. My head could not stop bobbing untill my headphones fell off." - Eric Donovan Lester 12/06
"erotically hip, ghetto spankin, techno, slammin, funkbreakin soundz... Try these new beats on and you won't want to take them off." Brilliantly Mad Magazine: 02/2005
"The word "independent" is a word that is re-shaping itelf in a land of
independence that has allowed big business and government to become synonymous. Over and over again, with friends in many places in the world, I have re-defined the word "independent" in the most current references and
terminology available.
One reference which always stands for what I believe in, which stands for Nu-est Skool artist credibility, which always backs me up in these discussions of what it TRUELY means to be independent, is a music group called JaGoFF.
JaGoFF does it the JaGoFF way. Lyrics that address major issues while
simultaneously addressing the crowd that neads to hear it. Their DIY efforts are focussed carefully generating new opportunities which JaGoFF proceeds to take by the ballllzz. And to take the cake the music is so goddamned good that you always want more. Locale - 11/05
"...will make you change your panties" Southend, Wayne University - 10/05
Equal parts Detroit & Chicago, JaGoFF is the musical intersection of wherever waste dumps & abandoned factories meet the $5 lap dance and HAM radio. It is lo-fi. subversive, sweet soul polluted by lost weekends of sweaty booty, downtempo breakbeats and massive bass. Perversely honest, strangely beautiful and badass funky. Expect BIG thangs.
