Jah Doctrine is Music Inspired by the Word of God; D.O.C.T.R.I.N.E stands for Demonstration of Creative Thought Revealed in Natural Elements. Jah Doctrine who grew up in Nassau Bahamas, began writing and performing at local talent shows at the age of 17 . He began practicing with a group called CEO Playas, but that situation never progressed due to a family emergency. The week the group was to record its first single Jah Doctrine was asked to accompany his younger sister to Coney Island New York USA. The group disbanded before his return home a few months later. By 19, he left his hometown for College in the Minnesota U.S.A. and earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Philosophy. While in college, he formed a live reggae/hip hop band called D.O.C.T.R.I.N.E. The band included members Massyka of Kingston, Jamaica, and Vicky of Freeport, Grand Bahama. The group achieved some local success in Minnesota winning a Battle of The Bands and opening for hip hop group Atmosphere. Despite their sucess after graduation in 2004 the members decided to continue pursuing solo careers and Dawon Stubby renamed himself Jah Doctrine. Jah Doctrine went into the studio with a mission, which was to create a groundbreaking album combining hip hop, reggae and dancehall using his Bahamian dialect. Traveling between Minnesota and Florida, Jah Doctrine devoted heart and soul to his music, and By early 2008, Jah Doctrine released his first single Dead Man Walking in The Bahamas, followed a few months later by Hard Times, My Story, its music video, and Money Talks. Building upon this momentum and helping to pioneer the local Bahamian hip-hop/Reggae scene with the help of Make em Listen and The Bahama Hot Ones Countdown, in 2009 Jah Doctrine filmed a music video for the hit single Nuff Gal which climbed the Bahama Hot Ones Charts to No. 3. Nuff Gal was followed by hit singles Destiny produced by Believe of N'City, Missing lady featuring Apollo Kre-ed, Better Place featuring Irate and Always. Jah Doctrine has been featured on 100Jamz with Randy C, 102.9 Island FM with BE, Power 104.5 as well as More 94.9 fm. My Story, climbed to no. 3 on the Bahama Hot Ones Countdown, and its music video is soon to reach Tempo. Dead Man Walking and its Music Video is recieving great response reaching no. 5 on the Bahama Hot Ones a few months prior. The success of these singles has not only helped to introduce Jah Doctrine to the Bahamian people but an international audience as well. In 2008; Dead Man Walking was featured in Reggae Vibes Magazine & Compilation CD (France), Jah Doctrie's music recieved radio spins from Atlanta to KFAI in Minnesota, Jah Doctrine has opened for international artists such as Sizzla Kolanji, Capleton, Jah Cure, I-Wayne, Warrior King, Ben Folds and Atmosphere. He has been Interviewed on television shows such as the Roots & Culture, Bahamas at Sunrise, Controversy T.V. and Bahamian Entertainment Television.
