I was born in Ghana on Wednesday June 4th 1985. Most of my life was spent in Birmingham, England's second largest city.
Music has always been a huge part of my life. I began playing the piano at 11 years old and, in 1999, I took a music production course at 641 Bristol Rd, a youth initiative to help keep kids off the streets of Birmingham, which sparked my interest in the art of music composition.
3 months after turning 16, my family moved to Atlanta, Georgia where i finished high school. I am currently a business marketing major at Howard University in Washington D.C. Much love goes to WHBC Studio's located in the basement of Howard University's communications building on the 830AM radio frequency where I had a weekend show for 2 years. I'm also a photographer and worked for the Hilltop (Howard's newspaper) in 05/06.
A proud member of Entertainment Media Sport & Law club at Howard, I served as the director of marketing in 05/06.
I have produced songs for Howard University's own Messiah, worked with D.C underground artist "Verse" for Controverse Media, Philly Artist Kool Keith, Brooklyn NY's own "Blaze" and North Carolina's "Broadway Mill" for Heavy Syndication to name but a few. You can find some of these artists on www.heavysyndication.com
You can contact me on jlartey@gmail.com.
Since I can only upload 4 songs at a time, I will be rotating my songs frequently so check back for new music.
Congrats....remember everything happens for a reason. I know this is one of the biggest blessings that could come about. I am here like always to support you in anyway I can.

After the disappearance of Madeleine McCann 3 weeks ago, like a lot of people on Myspace,i wanted to help as much as i could as i have a young daughter myself.
I decided to look at HTTP://UK.MISSINGKIDS.COM which is an official website dedicated to finding missing children of all ages, across the UK,run by the police.
A lot of attention naturally has been focused on Maddy, and rightly so.She is only 4,and the circumstances of her disappearance only add to the fear we all feel when it comes to our kids but looking at the site,i realised that she isn't the only one,not by a long way.
I want to do something, and i think that if all of my friends on Myspace can chose a child from the site, and give their details, post their picture, and raise awareness, then maybe, just maybe, one of you guys can help reunite parents and children, and i don't think any acheivement in life could match that,do you? So take a look at the site, pick a child, and post them on a prominent spot on Myspace.Maybe it might be a child that lives near you,or at the opposite end of the country, please just pick one or two,and help them get home.
If you are a friend of mine from the USA,CANADA,AUSTRALIA or any other country, then have a look at websites based in your home country, and do the same,it takes two minutes to put a pic up,and some details, and it could be the most important pic youve ever published!
