Jailhouse Payback formed in 2007 when two co-workers decided to write a song or 2 together. Shortly thereafter, Jailhouse Payback added a percussionist and performed as the featured band on Minnesota Public Radios' "Rochester Day" in May of 2007. Their three song set aired on The Current Radio throughout the Twin Cities and Rochester. Since their formation, Jailhouse Payback has written and performed more than 80 songs. Their original songs "Home Movies" and "Fool The Back Row" have been played on Minnesota Public Radio's Local Show, and they have one several awards for songwriting on garageband.com. Now that the band finally has a full time bassist and drummer, they look forward to playing shows throughout Southeastern Minnesota and elsewhere.
I am not just a new fan of this sound. Your music was like an immediate portal to that moment when I first heard Uncle Tupelo and suddenly believed that country music--post watered-down Nashville commercialism--could mean something again. You've given a grizzled aging man a chance to feel youthful and hopeful of the promise of music again. Well done, and please keep writing gems.
Brutal songwriter bash, and a chance for fans to lay down their support for live broadcasting of indies in the cities. Monday, March 2. Kitty Cat. Hope you make it big.
Hey! How was playing on the Current? I listened to it ALL DAY and then Caden got crabby just before you guys played so I missed it. Do you have recordings?
