Sounds Like
A kind soul once told us our harmonies remind him of Simon and Garfunkel. We've also been compared to Ida, Low, and early Liz Phair.
Jaime and Becky write acoustic music textured in melody like summer green in the Midwest. These native prairie gals sing with a potency, like humidity, heavy on the heart when you hear it. Captivating story telling and sultry voices lure you into their experiences from taking the bus to falling out of love.
They debuted their music in 1999 in the college music scene of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Shows were successful and the girls kept writing, and in 2003 they took their songs and guitars to Portland, Oregon.
Not knowing anyone in Portland, they spent hours upon hours playing guitar and writing songs. Mustering up the courage to play at a few open mics, they soon began to play shows of their own around town. They continue to develop their characteristic sound of smoky harmonies and unique guitar progressions.
With their first self-titled album completed and in hand, they are ready to set out on the road for their first west coast tour.
Hiya, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope you got a ridiculous amount of presents all of which you wanted very much. Also I trust that you spent Christmas with those you like best in all the world, cause otherwise, why bother? I am running away to Canada in January to record some music, so maybe I should incorporate that into my new years resolution... something, something, I will be creative and productive, blah, blah, blah. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, hope the holidays are great fun for you. -Kate Elliott
