jairus was formed in Chattanooga, TN around 2000. we used lots of fender rhodes & analog synthesizers as well as electric guitars, electric bass guitars, drums and cymbals, glockenspiel, & sometimes other instruments such as cello or violin or gong. Sometimes things were kind of noisy, a lot of times they were melodic & not too loud. There were lots of texture on our records. Also, all of this was topped off with the richest, most syrupy baritone vocals you can imagine. in spring of 2006 we played our final performance. Bill moved to Florida, Chris lives in Brooklyn, NY is sort of working on his solo-ish project "fever of the hawk", Jim has a kid & plays in heroes are horses, Aaron plays in Coral Castles.
Heypenny will be playing with The Modern Skirts this Friday, April 6th, 2007 @ JJ's Bohemia. It is a free show and it starts @ 10:00pm. Hope to see you there with bells on, and dancing shoes--dancing shoes and bells.
i love the way that the only comments left on my board have been from Jairus. At least I have fans... or I should say, at least i have a ruthlessly self promoting brother... heh heh heh. Anyway, I love the new album, I think it was your best work yet guys. It is sad to see Jairus go, but this new album was definately the farewell we were all looking for. Good stuff.
Hello!! Super excite to meet of you!! You musics is make excite an rockingroll, Yes!! Please to listen we new song "SuperFastCar", is so too funkytown!!
That is really really really sad. My favorite Chattanooga band. Ever since the days of that club that used to be where Coptix is now. And the other name. Country Feedback? That is really sad. I wish we could come back and play it with you but there is just no money for that. I will still play Jairus for people as I do now.
our EP is coming out in about a month but a lot of the stuff you heard was for a future album called "better walk than ride like that". i'd be interested to hear which stuff you like cause most of that stuff is stuff i didn't like so probably won't go on the album but if y'all liked it I might be willing to reconsider.
also- your new song makes me happy.
