Born and raised in southeast Indiana, Jake has been playing mandolin since his mid-teens. As a mandolin player and singer in training, he quickly found himself playing with several acts locally and regionally. In late 2004, Jake began recording with nationally touring artist Tony Holt & the Wildwood Valley Boys. The project, Daylight's Burnin', was released on Rebel Records and features Jake's mandolin talents. Brown toured with the band three years, seeing 20+ states and a Canadian tour. January 2008 saw the debut of Jake Brown & Blueline when Jake left the Wildwood Valley Boys and formed his own collaboration. For 2009, the band consists of Jake, Donnie Collings, Dolly Mae Bradshaw, and Kyle Clerkin.
