Who is Jake Gerard?

Jake was born in big city. Since moving to greener suburban pastures in his teens, Jake has been trying to reconcile the juxtaposition of those two worlds. Music is his tool.

On his sophomore CD, Can We Be Honest?, Jake poses some metaphorical questions: What makes the suburban teen tick? Who are city kids? Does love hurt more depending on where you live? Where do you see the falling stars clearer?

There are no answers to these questions, just honest and demanding music—music that merits a listen. Jake's passion is making people think, uncovering likeness in difference, dissecting the real meaning of lessons learned and unlearned.

What does Jake sound like?

Mix this in a musical blender: The unfiltered angst of Dashboard Confessional, the finger picking prose of Jackson Browne, the pop goodness of U2, the musings of Jeff Buckley, and the rock creed of Heart.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. You may not hear any of that. But what you will hear is honesty and passion.
