   About Jake
On a chair with Guitar/Harmonica... In an earlier life, Jake toured as a backing guitarist and support singer for an entertainment celebrity from age 19 - A little later, he got involved with Folk & Blues and CM clubs learning and practicing the craft of songwriting and developing his own style of music. In the 80’s he was a contracted songwriter to several publishers, most notably ‘Chappell’, selling songs to local award winning artists and pitching to overseas artists. He has done radio, TV, and been a top 10 finalist in major song comps in both NZ and Australia, before going in a completely different direction for a number of years... On re-entry, Jake spent some time in the Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) camp, finalizing with fRETfEST in their 2004 Brisbane singer-songwriter contest, winning a regional composition award and a Government Arts Grant to record, Jake’s solo album ‘Just Like That!’ was picked up by Hardrush Music Corporation in Canberra for both distribution and publishing, and 10 months later won an ARIA nomination in the ‘Best Blues and Roots Album’ category. It is now with 80 radio stations nationally and selected stations in Germany, America, Japan and New Zealand. It is also available in both hardcopy form and in digital download MP3/wav. Formats, from a number of online stores and agents. Google: Jake Lloyd Jones for options. Jake's music is a fusion of Folk, Blues, Rock and Country and whilst he maintains a claim to originality within this genre, some have made comparisons to Chris Rea, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Jim Croce. Jake has also written some ballads in his time and would quite willingly sell them to other artists. (Write/message him, for demos) After spending 2009 with the fRETfEST singer-songwriter roadshow, Jake intends to record a new album and set up a couple of tours in 2010...all serious offers considered. Well, I decided when I got home after that performance that I should just make a myspace.

And thank you very much for the encouragement Jake. I really enjoyed your music as well! Your guitar work is so good!

See you at the Fretfest by Candlelight.

Hi Jake, you're my kind of singer, songwriter and poet. Honest, intelligent, gutsy, sensitive, with great fit of lyrics & music. And a spunk to boot! Love all your work but my fave is Our Men of War.
Love and blessings, Jake!
