From the moment New Yorkers first heard Jamba play at Smalls Jazz Club in May, the buzz had already started. The dude in the funky tweed hat couldn’t wait to give him a man-hug and swore he’d be at Jamba’s every show. This is the dream of a young man whose roots come from a deep religion, a love of music, and grounded family ties to Brazil and America.
Since then, he’s already showcased for the president of Blue Note Records earned the respect of Beco Dranoff, head of A&R, Six Degrees Records. He’s garnered the attention of the folks at CD 101.9 and The David Letterman Show, artists Raul Midon, Bebel Gilberto and Morley. World-renowned bassist, Abe Laboriel, considers Jamba one of his favorite young pianists. Now, we are honored to introduce him to you.
