Guitar: James Baumgart
James graduated from University of MD at Baltimore County with a BA in Music Performance. During this time he gigged around Baltimore with his own trio. James has played weddings, festivals, functions, etc. and also played some pop music with the band Sipping Sugar as well as NYC R&B singer Russell Taylor.
James was mentored by three different local guitar players with three different approaches, ranging from real “meat and potatoes” style straight-ahead Jazz to a more modern approach. James considers his style somewhere between Joe Pass and Pat Metheny.
Saxophones: Dave Anderson
Originally from Minnesota, before residing for a decade in New York City and moving to Seattle in 2005, Dave has performed around North America with notable jazz musicians including Ryan Kisor, Clarence Penn, Gene Bertoncini, Michael Moore, Jim McNeely, Julian Priester, Jay Thomas, Matt Wilson, Clark Terry and Mel Torme.
Performing on tenor, soprano and alto saxophones, and now also on piano, Dave is known for a clear and individual sound, and for a savvy musical intelligence as an improviser. Although he plays in a modern style, Dave has earned accolades from jazz legends including Ray Brown and Clark Terry. Dave has increasingly focused on composing original music for jazz performance.
