James grew up in Northeast Missouri most of his life, but he lived briefly in California at the age of 5 and in Washington, Pennsylvania from ages 8-10. He started going to public school in Memphis, Missouri in 2nd grade because his family was on the road singing Southern Gospel full-time across the US until he was 7. James' first memories of life were being in various churches and at tent revivals singing across the United States. In High School, he became influenced by the likes of Russ Taff, Petra and Bob Carlisle, so he bought background music trax and sang in churches. In college, James joined a Christian Rock band. The highlight of being in that band was opening for the band Kansas at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri. In '96, James met Nashville Recording Artist Rhonda Vincent, who agreed to produce a 4-song Pop-Country demo. Two of the four songs were originals. In '98, James hooked up with an Artist Management company who set up a showcase at Cafe Milano in Nashville. Some people were interested in signing James, but the contracts were non-negotiable and uninviting, so it was a "No". In 2005, James met 3 men from a band out of Fulton, Missouri, who call themselves Kings Row. They fell in love with James' vocals and asked him to sing lead vocals on their 10 song CD entitled "Transition". In exchange for James' services, they let him record his 10 song CD that is currently available on myspace entitled "Two Sides to Every Man". That brings us to the present. James knows this is where God wants him. Some people are called to sing Rock music to minister to the lonely in bars. Others are called into the Country Music scene. James' calling is to uplift the Name of Jesus not only after the show, but also during the show. Aside from James' musical career, he is happily married to a beautiful woman named Rayann of 13 years. They have 3 children: Tres, Anna, and Bromley. God has truly blessed James in his music and personal life. Hopefully, God's Grace and Mercy will continue, so that James can continue to minister in song.
