Most of the great and memorable songs on record are those which contain both sincerity & resilience.
Songs to which not only possess stellar lyrics, but quality music and important themes/concepts behind them. Most of those songs can only be written by people who know what it is like to hit the bottom or something near such dark places. James Cassidy falls directly into this category.
Born and raised in North America, Cassidy is a singer/songwriter who writes hypnotic material, which sharply defines some of the darkest - albeit common - experiences of the modern era. James holds true to this style of writing, often finding life to be a lot more complex and challenging than most people would like to believe.
Cassidy took on the main front of artistic integrity after leaving home and setting out at age 17. His original adventures led him into the suburbs of the jaded and notably mundane New York City/Philadelphia metropolitan region of the U.S. It was there where the first serious steps were taken in writing his most solid material and eventual legitimate performances. In spring of 2005 James began collaboration with the band Jesse & the Rippers while producing their own record. Later that year Cassidy & Jesse and the Rippers combined to form Bad Fashion after a series of solid recording sessions.
After nearly four years of work in the studio and live performance, Cassidy's original material called Projekt 54 was released as a solo album, with significant artistic input from the members of Bad Fashion. The record gained good review by the general public, online fans, indie record labels and friends most notably abroad in Great Britain. The album reflected Cassidy's dark perspectives and experiences with neglect, depression, and teenage angst along with a humorous take the comical drama of drugs and social altercations. It is stocked with "badass" rock n' roll, heart-driven ballads, and atmospheric instrumentals. While playing with Bad Fashion, James made his first impressions on the modern era of music, gaining some radio air time in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, playing well-received concerts at CBGB's in NYC and Grape Street in Philadelphia, and being introduced into a wider scale of culture and diversity.
Since the release of "54" Cassidy has indulged in more in-depth collaborations with musicians such as Chris Darby of "the Filthy 42's", Noah Marsters of "20/20", and Matt MacLeod of "the Heavy Beat". The newer mental head-aches are expected to featured themes and style similar of those by Elliott Smith along with other less definable or comparable acts. It is assumed that the future works are to be more experimental and less genre-oriented than any of Cassidy or fellow crew's previous task projects.
James Cassidy's primary objective is to write & portray what is true of life whether good or bad rather than the typical assumptions/illusions of false normality.
