In 2007 I released an album of 10 original songs. On it I play acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, and sing lead and background vocals. The project was produced and recorded by North Carolina-native Jamie Hoover (The Spongetones) at Hooverama@Liquid Studios in Charlotte, NC. Jamie is also featured playing acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and singing background vocals.
Five of my original songs ("I'm Not Over You," "It Stands to
Reason," "The Way She Loves Me," "I Hear Your Heart Calling"
and "On the Way to Paradise") and 2 covers ("Definite Door" originally written and recorded by The Posies and "Dear God" originally written and recorded by XTC) have been played on various radio shows/stations:
I hosted 22 podcasts to help promote Charlotte Pop Fest. Each episode featured a different artist/band that performed at Charlotte Pop Fest. You can subscribe via iTunes or download/stream each episode in MP3-format at www.charlottepopfest.com.

I'm currently available to perform with my band (featuring David Reber on drums, and Rob Reber on guitar) or solo acoustic to cater to a variety of venues and audiences. We play original music, penned by myself, in addition to a growing catalog of cover songs from artists popular in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and today.

Great cover of Dear God. I love XTC and had the pleasure of meeting them when I lived in LA as a friend of mine was producing Oranges and Lemons. We should get together over a pint sometime. We know a lot of the same folks and share many of the same influences. Cheers, Chris (aka Chris Pittman)
JD, thanks for your great music and for all your hard work this spring to bring the music community together for the POP Fest at Alley Cat!! You are on MY TOP 15 favorite artists this week! Can't wait til the Dec POP Fest.... :) Tez
James, You are a great musician, an awesome singer, a phenemenal organizer for pop festivals, and that doesn't even begin to describe who you are as James Deem. You are truly a CLASS ACT and it has been an honor and priviledge to work with you - thanks really doesn't sum it up very well - but it was an amazing experience. I really hope we get to work together again! Mike & TSB
That Charlotte pop fest looks like a lot of fun. Wish I could be there, I've never been to that part of the country. Summer has, she tells me it's great.
Hi James, Hope you are well. I am still here. I got to go see Todd Rundgren a few weeks ago in Orlando. Actually got to meet him, and the band. Now my goal is to make it back to Charlotte and see you before th years end. Take care! Looks like gigs are plentiful! blaine
Hey DH,(the good one) That was too bizarre listening to your interview on Maui airwaves. It was so cool that you should post the audio. I will have to get over your reference to an old love interest. I knew I didn't like that song :) You realize I am the DW right?
Hey James, Just wanted to stop by and say thanks again for the opportunity to play at the upcoming Pop Fest and for the interview a few days ago. Had a great time talking with you guys and look forward to meeting you in person in July! Have a great night and speak with you soon! Mike
