See You There!
Sounds Like
I have been told i sound like a mix of Tim Buckley, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, David Byrne, Van Morrison, Nick Drake and Jack Johnson.....which is a huge compliment! I would love to but dont sound like Chris Cornell...which is nice.
Dont you just hate people who talk about themselves in the third person! Well here comes another.....
James Dixon has been gigging seriously since 2004 with bands such as local funk rock monsters Surrender Monkeys and the Ipswich based classic rock gurus, Applecat. More recently though you may have seen him sat with an acoustic guitar making some different sounds.
James is quickly establishing himself as a popular and accomplished live act, having racked up captivating performances at the Steamboat Tavern, The Milestone, The Koola Bar (Newquay); countless rural venues including weekly performances at the Easton white horse, Great Glenham Crown, the Crowfield Rose and The Castle in Framlingham.
His diverse influences range from the jazz of Django Rheinhardt and Les Paul, the blues of Robert Johnson, the rock of Rage Against The Machine and Led Zeppelin, to the traditional acoustic music of Bert Jansch and Ralph McTell.
He has been writing his own material for longer than he can remember and his original work has been likened to the music of Bob Dylan, David Byrne, Nick Drake, Van Morrison and Tim Buckley, whilst maintaining a unique style of his own.
You can contact me through myspace or by emailing him on jumbo1788@hotmail.com.

Songs sound great, quite different from the live act, but really good with the percussion and descants etc. I especially like the beginning to Bright Eyes, very 50s!!

You should get in touch with CherryAde records- they have done a lot of work with the Norwich scene.
Aww, now I feel all summery and happy. It's a shame that I am stuck at work and it is grey outside.
Hope you're well
