I was born on January 30, 1964 in Forest Park, Chicago, Illinois, the son of a United States Coast Guard Chief, Senior Chief Petty Officer James Charles Fraschetti (affectionately nicknamed "Red"). I moved to New Orleans when I was 3, then to NYC, then to Fire Island, NY at 6... I started playing magnus electric organ by ear when I was 6 years old... I started taking piano lessons when I was 8 years old... Then we moved to the country on a small farm in Centerville, NY (upstate NY)........... I started taking piano lessons in the church across the street, Higgin's Wesleyan Church when I was 9 years old. I played in talent shows and recitals through to the end of high school.......... After high school, I attended the SUC of NY at Fredonia and received my BA in Music Theory/Composition also fulfilling Piano Performance requirements in 1987, also took the Basic Studies Division Award for excellence in Music Composition. I took a master class with Billie Taylor. I performed classical and romantic music, and experimented with modern compositional techniques, avante garde and serial...I started playing organ for Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, then Hamburg Church of Christ, Scientist. Later, in 1988, I played organ, piano, and directed church choirs in St. John's Lutheran Church and two Spanish Baptist Missions until 1992. I freelanced as piano accompanist and vocal coach in college, until I moved to Buffalo in 1989.......... I was asked in 1990 by Van Taylor to play for the legendary The Incredible Mr. Lance Diamond. We took all the awards for three years. Then in July 1992 in one month after moving to Birmingham, Alabama, I was asked by Kevin Scott to play keyboards for Music Etceteras with Willie Clayton on the chittlin circuit. I was the feature soloist there in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee. This tour led Willie to his famed Ace records deal!......... In July 1993, I moved to New Orleans and I played in several small churches until I was discovered by Celebrity Drummer Dennis Williams at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church. With this contact I met Al Ancar and Premier. We were on the Cox cable TV network once a week... Then I met and played for Lee Bates and Cool Connection. I recorded for Allan Toussaint in Sea Saint's recording studio in N.O. and met Joshua whom is a NYC television studio owner. I actually gave an important piano recital at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church in which I was Music Director of on N. Dourgenois street in New Orleans.......... In April 1996 I moved to Puerto Rico and sang, played harpsicord, organ, and piano for two years with Coro Sinfonico de Puerto Rico with the orchestra. I also played keyboards for Club Soda (rock)... In 1997 I met bellydancer Leyla Zahar from Bob Ritchie. I made the arrangements and recorded with Bob, Carol Roldan, some belly dancers, and Leyla. We were on the "Hello WAPA" Show with the full group of musicians and dancers in San Juan Puerto Rico throughout the summer... In April 1998, with the help of Aldo Matta, Lynette (Chico) tending the bar, I took the gig at the legendary San Juan Grand Beach and Resort Hotel. I absolutely played piano in front of the line-up of the Miss Universe Pageant contestants 3 years in a row!...This hotel in the past featured Sammy Davis Jr. and the Jackson 5! and many stars of the Latin music scene... Lots of "pistas" I made (background track recordings) were performed in hotels in Japan, New Orleans, and later in China... I also sold originals in cassettes I produced and engineered myself...I also took a gig at the Caribe Hilton near old San Juan. It was there that I met Sabu Rosado (who heard my tapes), and he asked me to record a record with him for Miles Copeland ( Ex-manager for Sting & The Police) in 1999 to 2000. You will see MY name credits on the Desert Roses 2 album in record stores all over the world ("Yala Habibi" with Arabian Fantasy)..........I moved back to Ponce in September 2000, and I have been playing these hotels and restaurants, going back and forth from San Juan to Ponce, with merengue singer Daisy Jimenez; on this island for these past 10 years...I am also organist for Santissima Trinadad and now Santa Maria Virgen Episcopal Churches in Ponce...This year I have been working with the notorious Sonny Silva in a group self-named "Latin Swing". These shows include salsas, boleros, merengues, and latin/spanish ballads (bohemia). We play once a week at La Tripleta (off Ponce by-pass across from the Plaza Caribe shopping mall), and I have performed EVERY SINGLE BAR and venue in Ponce Puerto Rico to this date!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNVL9u7fzg4
