JAMES B. NORRIS OF THE SF BAY AREA IS AMONG THE MISSING LISTED ON THE DOE NETWORK. HE WAS 24 YEARS OLD WHEN HE DISAPPEARED WHILE ON A TRIP TO FLORIDA. HIS CASE FILE NUMBER IS 886DMFL:
James Berkeley Norris II disappeared on a trip to Florida in 1974 under suspicious circumstances. He left his home in San Francisco on October 3rd, 1974 with $12,000 cash and a plan to purchase Colombian marijuana from one of several contacts in Florida. He arrived at Miami International Airport early the morning of the 4th.
His family received a postcard (depicting a minor attraction in Winter Park, Florida) postmarked October 4th, 1974 in Inglis, Florida. Inglis is about 6-1/2 hours northwest of Miami on the Gulf of Mexico in Levy County, Florida. His family never heard from him again and the individuals he was meeting in Florida denied having had any contact with him once he arrived in Miami.
He was not carrying any identification and he used the name "Richard Gunning" on the flight from San Francisco to Miami.

Or, it may be that you are a fellow biker and I know that we would probably be friends if we met somewhere on the road. Maybe I liked your page, your name, your photos, your art, your honesty, or something else about YOU. I often don't know what it is that draws me to a person but I trust my gut. I don't know how I know it, but I have a real feeling that I am going to connect with the right person one day and I am going to get some answers in a magical way. See, the families of missing persons can never rest easy; we fight against the passage of time and fading memories as we try to keep our loved ones' stories in the public eye. Someone, somewhere knows what happened back in October of 1974 when my brother dropped off the face of the Earth. I just pray that someone will speak up and help my family bring his remains back home.
