James Kinne is a multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter based in central VT. He has played in the bands Angry Salad, Chasing Gray, and Nothing About Grover.
He was the founding member / songwriter of the band Chasing Gray, which won Spin Magazine's "Best Unsigned Band of 1998" award in the alternative category. He was also voted top 5 in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival's "Troubador Songwrtier" competition in 2002.
He has toured with the likes of: Live, The Verve Pipe, Counting Crows, The Samples, Violent Femmes, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Run DMC, The Barenaked Ladies, Jonatha Brooke, Soul Coughing, Guster, 10,000 Maniacs, and They Might Be Giants, among others.
Most recently, James can be found behind the console of his studio "Stillwater" located in the heart of Vermont. He also does custom music design for weddings and plays in various other groups around the state.
James plays Taylor Guitars and uses Knucklehead Strings exclusively.

There's this photo album in my living room of family pictures from the last 100 years or whatever. I was looking through it and stumbled upon this picture of you playing the piano in my living room, donning this absurd ponytail. You should rock that again man, you don't get taken seriously as an artist without a completely asinine physical attribute. I don't know when the picture was taken, suffice to say it wasn't yesterday.
