"A Song for Spring" and "Summer Groove" in the videos below are 2 movements from James Lentini's work "The Four Seasons" published by Mel Bay in an anthology (Fall 2009) edited by guitarist Charles Postlewate. The anthology includes original works that use all five fingers of the right hand, and this influences the style and level of difficulty of the works, which are written as "studies" to exploit the RH technique. (Classical guitarists usually play with the thumb and first three fingers only).

   About James Lentini

In The MySpace Player:

"A Winter Afternoon" and "A Song for Spring"‚ are are part of a piece entitled "The Four Seasons" being prepared for a new CD of my music. "The Four Seasons" is was recently published in a new Anthology by Mel Bay Fall (2009).

"Trust in the Lord"‚ is a large work for chorus, orchestra and soprano.

"Time Is On Your Side" is a throwback to my rock days back in Detroit in a band called Network. This was recorded in 1978 with me playing all guitars and singing lead vocals. I did the horn arrangement on this one too. Thought it would be fun to hear.

"Pacific Sunset" is another classical guitar piece written for Italian Guitarist Roberto Fabbri.

My "Official" Bio: James Lentini is an American composer and guitarist recognized for performances of his compositions worldwide. His works have been performed by distinguished solo artists such as guitarist William Kanengiser and by international ensembles including the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra (Poland) and the Bohuslav Martinu Orchestra (Czech Republic). In addition to many commissions, his honors include first prize in the 2004 Choral Composition Contest at Bluffton College, the 2002 Segovia International Composition Prize, the Atwater-Kent Composition Award (first Prize), the McHugh Composition Prize, a grant from "Meet the Composer," and several awards from ASCAP. In 2003, Dr. Lentini participated as a juror in the Segovia International Guitar Competition in La Herradura, Spain. He has been a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome, and his work has been featured in new music festivals throughout Europe and the United States. In 2007, Dr. Lentini accepted the appointment of Dean of the School of Fine Arts at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, overseeing the Departments of Music, Art, Theatre, and Architecture/Interior Design. From 2003-2007, Dr. Lentini served as the founding Dean of the School of Art, Media, and Music at The College of New Jersey. Previously, Dr. Lentini held the position of Professor of Composition at Wayne State University from 1988-2003, where he also served as Acting Chair and Associate Chair of the Department of Music. His works are published by MMB Music, Editorial de Musica Española Contemporanea, Acoma Editions, and the Society of Composers, Inc., and recorded on the Capstone, MMC, and CRS recording labels. In addition to composing, Dr. Lentini is a guitarist who has studied with William Kanengiser, Joe Fava, and Charles Postlewate. After completing undergraduate studies at Wayne State University in guitar performance and composition, he pursued a master‘s degree in composition at Michigan State University and a doctorate from the University of Southern California, where he studied composition with Robert Linn and Morten Lauridsen.

..(male).. ....English.. ..form of the name borne in the New Testament by two of Christ&x0027;s disciples, James son of Zebedee and James son of Alphaeus. This form comes from Late Latin Iacomus, a variant of Iacobus, Latin form of Greek Iakobos. This is the same name as Old Testament ....Jacob.... (Hebrew Yaakov), but for many centuries now they have been thought of in the English-speaking world as two distinct names. In Britain, James is a royal name that from the beginning of the 15th century onwards was associated particularly with the Scottish house of Stewart: ....James.. ..I.... of Scotland (........1394....&x2013;....1437........; ruled ........1424....&x2013;....37........) was a patron of the arts and a noted poet, as well as an energetic ruler. ....King.. ..James.. ..VI.... of Scotland (........1566....&x2013;....1625........; reigned ........1567....&x2013;....1625........) succeeded to the throne of England in ....1603..... His grandson, ....James.. ..II.... of England (........1633....&x2013;....1701........; reigned ........1685....&x2013;....8........) was a Roman Catholic, deposed in ....1688.... in favour of his Protestant daughter Mary and her husband William of Orange. From then on he, his son (also called James), and his grandson Charles (&x2018;Bonnie Prince Charlie&x2019;) made various unsuccessful attempts to recover the English throne. Their supporters were known as Jacobites (from Latin Iacobus), and the name James became for a while particularly associated with Roman Catholicism on the one hand, and Highland opposition to the English government on the other. Nevertheless, it has since become one of the most perennially popular boys&x0027; names.

Thanks very much for friendship James ... I like this opportunity to share our worlds...
The Life of a man is made up of a series of dreams which write our history, as well as our children, who then start to write their own. I decided to continue writing mine as soon as I began to dream in early childhood. One doesn't need to stop the journey along the way.
It is necessary to believe that the stars which light our way will never go out, and to continue to follow our dreams which inspire us in the most beautiful moments of our lives. If not, why is my star helping me to write so many fine melodies? I composed a suite for my dream,
called " Melody for an Oscar", and I am convinced that one day someone will help me to reach for that Oscar in Hollywood, which I have always imagined in my dreams. WE CAN DO IT!. No matter what, my dreams have enhanced my musical creativity, and for that I am thankful.
Warmest regards,

Didier EUZET
