A northwest native and prolific songwriter since the age of 15, Jimmy Peters remains strongly influenced by his earliest songwriting heroes: Randy Newman, Warren Zevon, Joni Mitchell and Elvis Costello. Jimmy has written and recorded over 250 compositions, many of which reflect his love of country music innovators like George Jones, Bobby Gentry and Carl Smith. In addition to the guitar and electric bass, Jimmy plays the steel guitar. Since 2006, Jimmy has played steel with various Seattle bands, including The Haul Off and Smack Somebodys, The Rainieros and (currently) The Big Valley Rangers and Johnny Mercury. In 2000 he produced his first CD, Westerly. Eight years later, The Difficult Part was released via CDBaby.com, where it has found fans as far away as Denmark. His first studio CD, Another Sore Loser, featuring 13 new songs and a busload of stellar Seattle musicians, will be available on CDbaby.com (and elsewhere) in mid November '09.
