I'm a songwriter; lyricist mainly. Give a listen to a few of the songs I have posted and see what you think. I'll be changing them out from time to time so you'll be able to get an idea of the different areas I write in. If you like what you hear and feel they are right for you as an artist or your band, please get in touch with me. If you like to cowrite, well once again, you've come to the right place. Give me a shout and let's write that perfect song!
Look forward to hearing from you,
James
Howdy and welcome to my back porch here at myspace. No shirt, no shoes, no problem here. Not too many rules round here except those that should have already been taught you by your parents. Respect yourself, your elders and the women folk and watch your language round the babies. They'll be running around and jumping off the porch from time to time.
Guess I've always wanted to be a writer; from poetry and stories when I was young to song lyrics now. I guess I always thought I could write a halfway decent lyric, but thanks to my friends at the Autin Songwriters and The Woodlands Songwriters Groups I found out that I didn't know "squat" about writing song lyrics. That was about 5 years ago and I like to think that they've done a pretty fair job of teaching me and hopefully I'll remember most of it.
If you like listening to music stop by and I'll try and have a variety of my songs posted from time to time. If you like to write, give me shout and we'll see what we can come up with. Heck, if your just looking for a nice shady place to get out of the sun, there'll always be a chair for ya here on my porch.
Hope to see you soon!
James.
P.S. If you want to hear more songs than allowed here (and who doesn't!) please head on over to soundclick at: www.soundclick.com/jamesodlesongwriter.

James Odle, Jr. - Join us in congratulating record producer Kim Copeland for her work on the Rachel Williams album, Lonely At The Bottom. Check this great review by R.K. Oermann with Music Row Magazine on Rachel's current single, The Only Thing Harder Than Leaving.
"She has the goods. This creeps up on you with cat’s paws. The languid pace, echoing instruments, spacious production and her hushed, aching delivery are all immensely seductive. The lyric of leaving home is full of terrific details. And her falsetto leaps in the bridge are like little daggers to the heart. A mini masterpiece. This, by the way, is the third single in a row that I have raved about from this performer. "
Your friendships have meant so much to me this past year on myspace. It's a treat to get on here and see so many of you working so hard to achieve your dreams and goals. I love each and everyone of your coments and messages that I am graced to recieve. Thanks so much for the time you set aside and share in doing them. This past year the WALL OF FAME has grown so much.To all of you Artist (Thank you) for DARING TO DREAM, AND LIVING THE DREAM. For letting me share who you are with others and what you do to make our world a little nicer with your God given tallents. I wish you all nothing but happiness in all you do. So my Valentine wish for you is to keep believing in your selfs, because that is one thing in this life that is free, and no one can take it away from you. Here's to making it count in 2008 my friends. Your friend in music and so much more... Phyllis Herschberger
Hey James!!! How have you been? I haven't heard from you in quite awhile! Although, you haven't heard from me either. Just thought I'd stop by and check on ya. I hope all is well my friend!
Hey James! You're always welcome, Mike and I are hoping to buy a house soon, you could be our first guests! I wish I had joined you on your tour here because you were doing things that I haven't seen in Nashville yet, and I live here! Talking to a couple potential band members, will let you know when we finally do start playing. Keep in touch! Kelly
Hey James - thanks for the add! I really appreciate it; I wish you all the best with your songwriting as well!
I’ve been home the past several years, lucky enough to write songs for other people's records, but I'm ready to go make some noise again myself! I’ve got a new CD coming out this fall/winter; hit me up with your e-mail address at www.georgeducas.com , and let’s stay in touch!
