contrary to popular belief, jamesphoney & jamesreindeer are not built from craft paper and string. they had been carving out their individual paths through the alt-rap scene from different sides of the capital of their fair isle before joining forces towards the end of 2007. jamesphoney with his cheeky smile and whimsical attitude and jamesreindeer with his frankly scary tones and spooky voice came together to explore the myriad wordplay their combined efforts might create. their debut collaborative effort 'rough tongue surfaces' stands as testament to their undeniable chemistry on any given track. their wide range of influences and collaborative works enable them to explore almost any given aspect of their chosen musical genre and how, onstage, they fully explore the possibilities of creating live extravaganzas therein. here’s to the two james’ and their wonderfully eccentric and dumbfounding ways... get your beak on!!!
"I've often felt like starting a label, but the thing is I'm too broke and probably lazy to do so... Anyway if I was a member of the A&R department of a French label I'd most definitely sign up jamesphoney and jamesreindeer.
They are both amazingly gifted MCs from the United Kingdom, with greatly talented beatmakers to enhance their lyrics. Ever since I first started my profile on Myspace, I've been given the opportunity to discover great music, but those two artists are actually the first ones I've ever felt so taken aback with. I just can't believe such great artists are so hard to find in France - i don't think their cds are actually available here, and I do believe it is a shame. All lovers of Boards of Canada, Boom Bip, Hood, 13&God, The Notwists, Anticon, Epic 45 should be appealed to their unique blend of indie shoegaze, dreamy electro and alternative hip hop. I cannot but strongly recommend such amazing musicians. Have a go at their music, you won't regret it."

Hope to see you guys again in my hometown, maybe I can even juggle before. Who knows?
Make sure to check out Project:Mooncircle from Berlin (myspace.com/projectmooncircle), they produce kinda the stuff that you do. Make sure to send a demo to Gordon, hope he may love it like me and my people do. Also check out their London signing Obba Supa (myspace.com/obbasupa), I told you they sound like you dudes.
Thank you again guys for friday night, i hope one day we will be more helpfull to defend such a great music as yours (with a big audience & doors open at time, it could be a beginning...) because you really deserve that... !
