Music on this site has James on vocals, guitars, harmonica, bass, lap steel, dobro, mandolin, drums, occasionally i will throw in an a banjo or keyboard/piano if i can get my hands on them. The music on this site was recorded, produced and engineered entirely by James, mostly in his house, but some in other places. And by the way, when did I start talking about himself in the third person?

Hi there, my name is James! Welcome to my myspace page, which features additional songs from my bands, as well as some solo stuff. I sing/write, play guitar, harmonica, dobro, electric lap steel, mandolin and "acoustic bass". I currently play with the band "Jailhouse Payback", which, among other feats, has performed live on 89.3 FM The Current (Minneapolis/Rochester), and recorded a full-length CD, which is for sale on CD Baby. Since completing that album, JHPB has written and recorded an additional 30-40 original songs (stopped counting).
As a performer, I have shared the stage with Backyard Tire Fire, Tim Mahoney, Slipknot (that's right), Abi Tapia, and others. I have played at The Red Raven (fargo), Plains Art Museum (Fargo), Ft. Knox Bar of Gold (Fargo), The Big Craft Fair at Island Park (Fargo), Kid Fest (Fargo), The City Cafe (Rochester), Sonte's Restaurant (Rochester), Farmers Markets in Rochester and Minneapolis, Dunn Brothers Coffee (Minneapolis, Rochester and Fargo), Diamond's Coffee Shop (Minneapolis), The Acoustic Cafe (Winona), O'Gara's Garage (St. Paul), The Terminal Bar (Minneapolis), Kathy's Pub (Rochester), The Contented Cow (Northfield), The Red Carpet (St. Cloud), and others.
Looking forward to once again playing some shows in Rochester!
Bruce Springsteen, eh? That should be an awesome show. "Impeach the President" might make a good punk song; otherwise, it definitely does not sound promising. :) Can you believe I lost my RK disc? Must have been my subconscious. Although Smoke Detector is my new favorite. I still haven't figured out how to do it though. I keep mixing it up with the "Sprinkler." It does seem to follow logical order, at least in schools and businesses. We don't have a sprinkler system, of course...(I have been so out of my mind lately, sorry for being nuts).
Happy 2 year SM anniversary next week (or sometime soon), BTW.
100 Times or More is amazing! I dig all the Neil references. Is "passed out on the floor" a reference to the American Stars and Bars album cover or am I just reading too far into it?
