Needs to look at updating his Myspace, but that would require updating or perhaps deleting his apathy driver.Mood: exhausted exhaustedat 8:55 AM Jun 19 view more

About me:

.. James McLean:'moi' to me, 'you' to you and referred to as 'he' or 'James' from hereon, is a freelancing illustrator and video game artist in the UK prostituting his artwork successfully for any other medium that people will hire him for. He has worked on video games, TV documentaries, commercials, books, newspapers, comics and advertising. He likes to be busy... ..On a certainly more personal note, "Pandemonium" is James' pet project and when he's feeling a little less self conscious about the concept, he might let you in on the secret. While he attempts to hide his project from a world who actually, really and surely couldn't care less, he's working with his shame creative partner on the side, fellow illustrator-come-writer, Paul L Mathews on "Stripped Bare". ..

He has no guilt in admitting that this MySpace account is really a simplistic showcase for his illustrations, large ego and general diatribes - in some respects, James is a bit of a whore like that. But that's art for you folks - that's the sort of open secret you learn here.

In his infrequently small measures of spare time, James writes music as well as enjoying the occasional spree in penship, reviewing animation screener material and writing lead blogs for some American animation websites. James continues to run a drawing board community and website for amateur artists. He is also responsible for the writing and illustrations on the internet comic "Batman: The Dark Knight Adventures" (rated 9/10 by Comics International - lord knows why). A shameful and rushed plight he volunteered for while he was a hard working student. He doesn't talk about that too much.

He swears by the works of PG Wodehouse, Douglas Adams and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but rarely mentions the thrill he gets from a good Doctor Who book. . Any more glib details that spring to mind - you'll be the first to know - on a need to know basis of course.

JamesMclean.net - The Illustrator's website.
Quarry Grove - A children's book by creator Clive Tandy which James works as illustrator and occasional writer.
Stripped Bare - Weekly Newstrip illustrated by yours truly.
Domesticated Words - A blog brimming with McLean reviews and comments.

Who I'd like to meet:

Mr David Simon, Mr Dirk Benedict, King Stephen Fry, Long John Ryan Stiles, David Bowie, Russell T Davies, Peter Kaye, Amanda Palmer, Eddie Izzard, Skeletor, Russell Enoch, Stewart Lee, Wayne Brady, Richard Herring, Edward James Olmos, Paul Darrow, Colin Mochrie, PG Wodehouse, Douglas Adams (unlikely), Arthur Conan Doyle (on a death scale, even more unlikely than the former), Bill Murray, Stephen Colbert, Bill Bixby (on the death scale, less unlikely than Conan Doyle, more unlikely than Douglas Adams), Andre Braugher, JMS, James Herriot (a gentle, quiet author who really shouldn't be disrespected by being put on any death scale) and Greg Hollimon - are all people I'd like to meet individually.
