James Stanley

About me:

My name is James Stanley Jr, and I am 19 years old. I was born on September 22, 1990 and raised in Ilion, New York. I then moved to Salisbury, North Carolina on June 20, 2004.

I attended West Rowan High School for my freshman and sophomore year, then transferred to Jesse C. Carson High School prior to my junior year, and graduated from Carson with a 4.2 GPA in 2008.

I applied, was accepted, then attended UNC-Charlotte for a semester (Fall 2008). I then transferred to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, where I am currently attending, and plan on majoring in machining.

I work at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Salisbury, NC, and have been there since June, 2007. I am currently training to be a manager.

Kart racing is my life. It is the only thing that I think about from the moment I wake up until the time I lay in bed, and when I fall to sleep I dream about it. I've been involved with it since July, 2005, when I first started working on my cousin (Dave Richer)'s kart. I began racing in September, 2006, and purchased my own kart (2005 Phantom Phenom) in November, 2006. My cousin Dave and I started up Rocket Tire Services in 2007, where we specialize in tire preparation as well as chassis set-ups. I won my first feature event on June 7, 2008 at Liberty Raceway Park, and finished third in the points standings in the 2008 King of the Clay series. I also won the Williamston Eastern Indoor National Championship race on January 10, 2009. In 2009, I won the North Carolina/King of the Clay state championship.

I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for: God, my uncle Ed Richer, cousins Dave Richer and Bud Richer, my grandparents, my parents, Phantom Racing Chassis, Harrill Wiggins, Tony Belk, Kathy Belk, Tony Walter, Mike Burns, Tod Miller, Randy Ransom, Eric Rendleman, Josh Williams, and Tony Lanning.
