Sounds Like

“Chances are the name James Sudakow is going to be much talked about in the prog rock and fusion community shortly after the word of just how good this CD is gets out. Frighteningly good.” Sea of Tranquility, The Web Source for Progressive Rock

“James Sudakow is an extremely gifted player and has created a brilliant piece of music here.” Progressive Ears CD Reviews, 21st Century Progressive Rock

“This is an instrumental assault of the senses” Keith “MusicMan” Hannaleck, MuzikReviews.com

“James Sudakow weilds an electric violin like Jimi Hendrix did with his guitar…”Bryan Farrish Radio Promotion

“This is a CD full of creative…raunchy and raw…violin playing…and shows an artist that is taking some leaps into a musical genre that has a very limited amount of violinists. The scene could use more talents like James Sudakow creating new music.” ProGGnosis, Progressive Rock & Fusion

“James’ work with the electric violin is groundbreaking…in terms of effectively using an instrument not typically associated with rock music. James’ violin work is amazing.” RadioIndy

“This is one of the best instrumental CDs I’ve heard …” Prognaut, Progressive Music Reviews from a Fan’s Perspective

“The full picture of this album is quite unique and original – with echoes of other music…a real winner.” Gary Hill, Music Street Journal

   About James Sudakow

In January 2007, James completed his first solo all instrumental CD – GREEN - in which he created a unique sound – heavy and ambient – combining post progressive melodies, modern alternative rock, electronica, and the uniqueness of the electric violin.

In January 2009, James released his second all instrumental CD - THERE IS NO SOUND IN SPACE – collaboratively with UNDER RADIO guitarist, Eric Zimmermann. This release continues to feature the electric violin in many styles and textures in tandem with electric guitar work and incorporates a heavy dose of industrial electronica.

James has been featured in Music Connection, Progression Magazine, Relix, Jazz Magazine ( Italy ), and Strings/Teen Strings Magazine. His music has received critical acclaim from numerous progressive rock and mainstream music magazines, websites, and e-zines nationally and globally and has been featured on compilation CDs produced by Relix, The Progressive Rock Hall of Fame, Jazz Magazine (Europe), and MuseGroup ( Europe ). James’ music has also been used in MTV programs and has received radio play on a significant number of CMJ, progressive rock, and electronica radio programs. In addition, engaging high energy live shows with his trio in clubs and at music festivals have earned him high praise.

Intense, mind-blowing stuff!! I especially like "Black" with the flat-five changes and pounding drum track underneath that powerful violin. It's like a screaming, angry elephant, about to overtake the jungle and kill everything!! Love it.. JW

My first Cd "Blue Like A Jazz Note" has just been released and is now available for purchase from my site and iTunes. This album represents the culmination of years of hard work and a dream that has been alive in me from my earliest days. It includes 15 great jazz standards by some of the world's greatest composers. I hope you'll come and have a listen.

Thanks for the support!

James,
Sorry it took me so long to answer! Yes, I am working on new material. Once I get it solid, I'm planning a recording session at Skywalker.

How about you? You have GOT to have something cooking...am I right?

In music and in peace,

Harlan Mark Vale
