James What is a musician and producer living in London, UK. Brought up in southern France, James discovered his passion for music at an early age through playing guitar and percussion. At 15, having won a recording opportunity through a battle of the bands competition he moved to London to study music performance, and later recording arts and business. Since then he has been experimenting with the performance and production of all kinds of music ranging from world music to electronica.
Pursuing his passion for electronic music, James has worked under various aliases and has released his music on labels such as Poker Flat, Treibstoff, Meerestief and Einamaleins Musik. James has also written music for the TV and broadcast industry and was selected for the Red Bull Music Academy 2005 held in Seattle. In 2005, James teamed up with Dan Berkson (Crosstown Rebels/Moodmusic) to perform live and produce together as they shared a similar background in music performance. Their debut EP together on Poker Flat, "The Dig" has been a big success, followed by two tracker "Systems" on Sounderground Record and another EP on Poker Flat entittled "Cantina". Dan and James also contributed an exclusive track "Asteroids" to the 5th Poker Flat compilation along with remixes for Boxer, Meerestief and Poker Flat, not to forget their seperate solo releases on Crosstown Rebels and Meerestief.
Since their debut performance at Sonar festival in June 2006, Dan and James have been performing their unique live sets all around the globe. Using two laptops along with live synthesizers and drum machines, they perform and rework their music while always finding places for improvisation and keeping things fresh. Things are looking good for 2008 with releases scheduled on Steve Bug's Poker Flat and Dessous imprints, including two tracks featuring house legend Robert Owens!
Lookout for upcoming records and live dates!

Achtung !!!
