I've got some more Walter & Perry 'Home Movies' hijinks below in the TV section . . .
Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes.
The same police officers coerced an error-filled confession from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.
Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.
For over 12 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn't commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.

Music
Yes...I'm a Dream Theater whore...deal w/ it :0)
*****
I listen to literally *everything*. I believe that if you hear a piece of music and you like it, then it's good. If I hear the same piece of music, but, I don't like it, it doesn't mean that it isn't good. (Now, if you want to debate whether something's "important" or "socially relevant", that's another matter . . .) That's what is so incredibly amazing about music. It's a completely different experience for each individual, yet, we can all still connect with one another.
Here's some of my faves:
Dream Theater (and related side projects); Pink Floyd; Yes; Rush; Led Zeppelin; Black Sabbath; The Beatles; Eric Clapton (Cream; Derek and The Dominoes; etc.); Bob Marley; Genesis; Emerson, Lake, and Palmer; The Velvet Underground; King Crimson; The Flower Kings (and related side projects); KISS; Stone Temple Pilots; Phish; The Grateful Dead; Aryeon/Star One; Symphony X/Russell Allen; Spock's Beard/Neal Morse; The Who; IQ; Renaissance; Extreme; Dire Straits; Van Halen; Queen; Jackson Browne; J.D. Movies
I love movies, although I don't really take the time to enjoy them like I used to. The older I get, the more ADD I've become. I'm mainly a comedy guy or if it has something to do with music, but, I do like some oddball stuff, (foriegn, horror, martial arts, anime films)
Some of my faves:
All of the Monty Python movies; The Naked Gun series; Star Wars series; The Lord Of The Rings trilogy; The Matrix trilogy; Indiana Jones series; anything w/ Eddie Izzard in it + all of his stand-up shows (if you've never seen any, go get 'Dressed To Kill', piss yourself laughing, then go get the rest of his stuff . . . Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band; Yellow Submarine; The Great Escape; The Dirty Dozen; Cat Ballou; Hellraiser; The Exorcist; The Last Waltz; The Wall; THX 1138; House of 1000 Corpses; Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 & 2; Akira; TRON; Fantastic Planet; Logan's Run; Enter The Dragon; Hero; Seven Samurai (actually, *all* of Kurosawa's movies); Citizen Kane; The Third Man; Cloak & Dagger; The Gate; Fritz The Cat; 9 To 5; Spacecamp; WarGames; The Goonies; The Manhattan Project; Night Of The Comet; Boogie Nights; Magnolia; Monster In A Box; Gray's Anatomy; The Big Lebowski; Strange Brew; Where The Buffalo Roam; Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas; Brazil; Time Bandits; anything that Kevin Smith does (did he just say "Making fuck"?); every Mel Brooks movie, but, especially: Young Frankestein, Blazing Saddles, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, Spaceballs, and History Of The World Part I;

Television
R.I.P. MST3K
Don't watch as much TV as I used to, and when I do, it's usually either cartoons, the History Channel, Discovery Science, or VH1 Classics. Also, my peak TV viewing times are something like 3am to 6am, and then, I usually pop in a DVD. Otherwise, all I watch is football, (Cincinnati, Green Bay, several college teams as well), soccer, (Manchester United), and NASCAR . . .

Lewis; J.K. Rowling; Bernard Cornwell; Peter Guralnick; Neal Peart; Hunter S. Thompson; Clive Cussler; and my new fave, Terry Goodkind . . .

I'd love to find copies of all of those again someday and re-read them and share them w/ my daughters :-)

DREAMSCAPE (progressive metal from germany) new cd february 2010!
my mood update is "sympathetic". Your who-dey sack king is out-for-season. ;( I'm not too upset seeing as he threw Aaron Rodgers down 5 bloody times, but you should appreciate my attempt at being nice. (fires bowl) Thank God you guys are coming back to Cleveland soon, I could use that show. ;)
you picked the Vikings to win?!?! Traitor. I have that same problem with the Browns and Steelers. Not much of a Steelers-hater, hate the Ravens much more. I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about the whole my Packers vs. my Favre issue, so I just kind of "let it happen" and tried to just pay attention to what I was feeling as it happened. I was a bit surprised, I stayed loyal to the Packers almost entirely. Minnesota does have a great team and they are a lot of fun to watch. But right now I'm still bitter, so screw them too. Jared Allen in particular. He dropped Aaron Rodgers about 5 times, I could have leaped through the TV and choked him. Speaking of hate, the song I picked for your Bengals was Nine Inch Nails' "Piggy". I hope the drums in that song make Chad JOHNSON's ears bleed... who dat? ;)
I take it you survived that game?? I don't know about you, but I'm bloody miserable. However, I did prove to myself that I am a bigger Packers fan than I am a Brett Favre fan and I wasn't always too sure of that.
BTW, screw your Bengals. They've beaten both my Browns and my Packers and I am not amused...I'm gonna find a totally hateful song and post it on my Facebook page as a dedication to the Cincinnati freakin' Bengals for doing such a great job of ruining my season... ;)
