You are paying for ridiculous anti-drug commercials!
Click here and tell Congress to stop wasting your money!
Hopefully, you've seen the anti-cigarrette commercials. The theme is "Truth" and the plot is "CrazyWorld". I love these commercials. I smoke cigarettes, hate it and blame the tobacco companies. (Of course, I blame myself, too.)
I would love to introduce a new type of commercial. A pro hemp commercial, if you will. These commercials would acknowledge why cannabis is the safest recreational drug. These commercials would be direct rebuttals to certain ridiculous anti-drug commercials. They would also educate people about the many uses for hemp and the absolute necessity of medicinal cannabis.
You are Paying for Drug Propaganda!
Take action now to stop the government's ridiculous anti-drug propaganda ads. Tell Congress to stop wasting hundreds of millions of your tax dollars to spread lies and myths on TVs across America.

I believe cannabis was banned to prevent hemp from ever becoming a major natural resource. Please, click here to learn why.
If you support cannabis, don't call it "Marijuana". In the mid 1930s, the M-word was created to tarnish the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp plant. To learn more about the Marijuana Conspiracy Theory, click here .
The main purpose of this page is hemp education. However, I support the responsible use of cannabis as recreational drug and I fully condone the use of medicinal THC. To learn how NORML supports the private possession and responsible use of cannabis by adults, click here.
Statement of Congressman Ron Paul United States House of Representatives Statement Introducing HR 1866, Industrial Hemp Farming Act April 2, 2009
Madam Speaker, I rise to introduce the Industrial Hemp Farming Act. The Industrial Hemp Farming Act requires the federal government to respect state laws allowing the growing of industrial hemp.
Eight States--Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia--allow industrial hemp production or research in accord with state laws. However, federal law is standing in the way of farmers in these states growing what may be a very profitable crop. Because of current federal law, all hemp included in products sold in the United States must be imported instead of being grown by American farmers.
Since 1970, the federal Controlled Substances Act's inclusion of industrial hemp in the schedule one definition of marijuana has prohibited American farmers from growing industrial hemp despite the fact that industrial hemp has such a low content of THC (the psychoactive chemical in the related marijuana plant) that nobody can be psychologically affected by consuming hemp. Federal law concedes the safety of industrial hemp by allowing it to be legally imported for use as food.
The United States is the only industrialized nation that prohibits industrial hemp cultivation. The Congressional Research Service has noted that hemp is grown as an established agricultural commodity in over 30 nations in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. The Industrial Hemp Farming Act will relieve this unique restriction on American farmers and allow them to grow industrial hemp in accord with state law.
Industrial hemp is a crop that was grown legally throughout the United States for most of our nation's history. In fact, during World War II, the federal government actively encouraged American farmers to grow industrial hemp to help the war effort. The Departmen

MPP is the largest marijuana policy reform organization in the United States. Founded in 1995, MPP works to minimize the harm associated with marijuana -- both the consumption of marijuana and the laws that are intended to prohibit its use. MPP believes that the greatest harm associated with marijuana is prison. To this end, MPP focuses on removing criminal penalties for marijuana use, with a particular emphasis on making marijuana medically available to seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors.
MPP doesn't encourage marijuana use. But our failed marijuana laws cost taxpayers billions of dollars a year, keep police from focusing on real crimes, and fail to keep marijuana away from kids. We believe it's time for a new approach-- taxation and regulation.
Sincerely,
The Marijuana Policy Project
Thanks for the add! please stop by John's Myspace and see how Marijuana = Life Sentance for him! Blessings, Val *John's Sister*
The short story:
John Laughon was served with a search warrant in November 2004 to search his bedroom at his mother's home in Jacksonville, Florida. DEA officers found less then 26 grams of Marijuana. Smoking Marijuana may have helped control seizures John had since 19 years old. He was sentenced to 6 months in the county jail, he would serve 5 months with gain time.
John turned himself into the jail in late January 2005. His mom provided the jail with one month's supply of a seizure medication, that they did not carry it in the jail clinic. The first week John slept on the floor because of overcrowding in the jail. The second week John was made a trustee. The third week John was hospitalized for injuries he sustained in a beating by correctional officers. He has spent each day since in what doctor's call a vegetative state. This is how doctor's say he will live the rest of his life.
JSO continues to deny wrong doing. If there was an investigation, no criminal charges have been filed against and correctional guards, sheriff's officers, or anyone for that matter. John was a trustee, you have to prove you are a trustworthy person to be a trustee. How is that the correctional officers claim he was violent? The truth is, correctional guards over reacted to the seizures John was having. In fact, if you look at my blog I have listed multiply news items about other allegations of abuse to people at the hands of correctional officers and sheriff's officers in Jacksonville, Florida.
John was sentenced by the courts to 6 months, 5 months with gain time. Jacksonville Sheriff's Officers or Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Correctional Officers have sentenced him to life in what doctors call a vegetative state.
Please pass this on, we are hoping to find a witness willing to come forward. T
