About Allensworth

Allensworth is a collective septet pieced together by front man singer-songwriter Jamie Allensworth. The dexterity of this group shows no boundaries. Although the band is known for their raw soul-funk, high intensity live shows. Their stripped down acoustic set is equally intense paying homage to artists such as Nick Drake, Elliott Smith,and Richie Havens. "In an industry that has become so open to the masses where music is so easily attained we don't feel the need to abide by any certain criteria or genre. We play soul music, music from the soul, it was spiritual during the recording process, and most definitely spiritual through its delivery".

The debut album "Broken Leaves" demonstrates the diversity of Allensworth. The long awaited full length exposes the eclecticism of each band member and showcases the compositional, vocal, and lyrical talent of Jamie Allensworth " We experimented sonically and tried not to stray far from each songs acoustic format and in the process created this well rounded organic album that explores each spectrum from old school doo wop, down-tempo, to up-tempo rock and soul".

The strength of this group is definitely established in their live performance. Although Allensworth is a fairly new project the members have been performing together for over a decade. Nafro ( aka Natural Afrodisiac ), The Rebirth, Breakestra, Soulhustlers, and Leparis Nervosa are among some of the many projects each band member stems from. Allensworth strongly conveys their knowledge and importance of live music through each performance. Known to captivate and move any audience this band thrives on showmanship through infectious rhythms, clever word play, and soulful grooves.
