A classically trained pianist, soulful vocalist, and experienced performer, Jamie K’s powerful yet insightful singing and songwriting flow with original melodies and unforgettable piano hooks. She has a sizeable catalog of original compositions written on various instruments including cajon and guitar. Genuine love and musical gift emerged at the age of six, when she first encountered the touch of the piano keys, but it hasn’t always been an easy road for Jamie to follow her dreams.
She composed her first song at the age of sixteen, but didn’t understand her gift and hid it from the world. Her first performance came two years later. Encouraged by her family to attend college, she decided on a university in San Diego. After two years she discovered the difficulties of being a contemporary musician at a classical arts university and felt discouraged in her dreams, music, and abilities. Soon after, she realized her passion had disappeared, but in the absence of pursuing her dreams she came upon their real value. Jamie decided to follow her heart with a renewed strength and the knowledge that she could never again give up her greatest gift.
Now when faced with challenges and opposition to her dreams Jamie smiles, saying “ I have confidence my music will be where it needs to be because I am doing music for the right reasons in a world full of wrong reasons.”
Recently, Jamie graduated college with a degree in music and business as well as spending time writing and recording at Soulthink Studios in St. Louis. Her debut album promises to bring a refreshingly unique and genuine flavor to popular music. When asked her thoughts on where her music has been and is going Jamie said, “I’m finally in the place I’ve always wanted my music to be. I feel like my current musical vision is crafted in the new album. I want all of the listener’s senses to be engaged in the experience of the music. My time is coming and I am excited for everyone to listen.”
