Jamie is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from Aberdare, South Wales (UK) with a sweet easy listening, mellow tone to his voice.
This is jamie's write up.
Although Jamie has only been around the acoustic scene since October 2007, he did his groundwork by travelling all over South Wales to play as many open mic nights and jam sessions as he could. Through his reputation at these open mic nights, Jamie has obtained bookings to play many bars and clubs throughout South Wales and is well received wherever he performs.
“ Jamie has improved tremendously since his inception to the acoustic scene. His song writing skills and vocal range are to be compared to some of the best in the business.” Graham Davies (The Last Friday Club)
Jamie has close links to leukaemia since an early childhood illness. He has already organised two charity events to raise awareness and funds for this deserving cause. These events included over thirty bands and solo artists from all over South Wales, who freely gave their time and music to help promote Jamie’s cause.
"Jamie Mcardle then hit the stage for his set, and starting off with Folsom Prison Blues automatically put him in my good books, all credit to Jamie for putting on a quality gig for such a good cause but for also helping to put the Cynon Valley back on the music map." Garry Bolsom (Plugged In, magazine)
Jamie completed his first e.p. "Natural Resources" in July 2008. He limited production to just one hundred copies, to see how his audiences would respond to his own music. “Natural Resources” is an all acoustic five track e.p. that contains acoustic guitar and easy listening vocals. The track “City Life” seemed to catch the attention of audiences everywhere and when Jamie played at the Newquay (Wales) Music Festival in August 2008, the e.p. had sold out by Sunday morning.
“This talented young man was a breath of fresh air, Jamie certainly has a future in the music business. I sincerely hope that he will come back and play for us next year.” Paul Drew (organiser, Newquay Music Festival)
Jamie has recently released his second e.p "Long Gone" and it is already receiving rave reviews.
"This excellent easy listening four track e.p. by acoustic solo artist Jamie Mcardle has been turning heads in the internet download scene, the single release for "Long Gone" has just reached no.4 in the U.K's unsigned top 40 chart and is sure to climb over the coming weeks" (Earwax Audio Mastering)
“Long Gone” is currently being used to promote Jamie’s debut album which is due out summer 2009, which will be followed by a small U.K tour.
Jamie Mcardle is definitely one up and coming artist to look out for in the near future.
