Recorded live at the World Festival of Sacred Music 2008, The Yuval Ron Ensemble performs the ecstatic music of the mystical Sufi traditions of the Middle East and Pakistan. The concert features the magnificent vocals of Najwa Gibran and special guest Sukhawat Ali Khan, a master qawwali (devotional) singer from Pakistan. A pioneering endeavor in bringing together the Middle Eastern and South Asian vocal and musical traditions into a new exhilarating trance-induced accord.

Jamie has made a name for himself in the Los Angeles World Music Scene as a passionate percussionist of ethnic hand drum styles of the Middle East, North Africa & the Balkans specializing in Doumbek, Riq (Arabic Tambourine), Frame Drums, Cajon, Udu Drum and Turkish Davul. He maintains an active performance and recording schedule as a member of the critically acclaimed Yuval Ron Ensemble, The Stefani Valadez Ensemble, The Nashuva Band, Heyraneh, The Ist-West Ensemble and The Ava Nahas Percussion Ensemble and has recently recorded with the Kronos Quartet. Jamie has performed at such notable venues as the Ford Amphitheater, the Skirball Cultural Center, the Getty Museum, the Hammer Museum, The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Occidental College, Boston College, Brandeis University, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Johns Hopkins University, St. Marks Cathedral-Seattle, Wa., The Islamic Center of Los Angeles, Zipper Hall, San Diego's Museum of Modern Art, USC, Houston’s Rothko Chapel, Yale University, Museum of Jewish Heritage-NYC and Symphony Hall-Seattle and has performed at international festivals in Poland; South Korea; Israel; Jordan; Mexico and Morocco.
